No no, before that. Andres first season he was ours, fee agreed with Porto. but levy fucked about At the end of the window instead of sorting it early, leaving us not enough time to close out the deal with the 3rd party

Some say he left it late as he never had any intention of having the deal go through
Then we got plan D (as the ITK put it), Dempsey.

Look at yourselves before you blame Levy. A number of Spurs 'supporters' constantly believe the grass is greener, that a new manager will get us top 4. It's as much of a commercial challenge as a footballing one, yet we won't get there because supporters won't give the hierarchy time to get it right. We have a chairman of proven quality who happens to have an itchy trigger finger, just don't give him reason to use it.

But all football fans are like that. It's up to the chairman to know when's best to ignore the fans and give the manager they picked more time - as Man Utd did with Ferguson & Arsenal did with Wenger. Levy's great on the commercial aspect but when it comes to the footballing decisions he comes across as a fan making knee jerk decisions the moment we hit a rough patch.

It's the way the expectation is in modern football. Fans and owners expect things too quick. A few bad results and the manager is gone. Interestingly (and I'll applaud them if they do) United have kept with Moyes despite their season (below us still and bound to be out of Champions League). Managers need time (at least 3 or 4 years) to build a team to his liking and get the players in to play his way and as a unit. No owner now is willing to ive them time (other than Wenger).

From reading jj info sounds like we are after a new director of football??????
baldini has escaped with hardley any criticism when clearly he wasted a lot of the bale money. If he is in charge of identifying the players and getting them he has a lot to answer for

I'm actually wondering if it's the Broomfield thing? JJ said that it wasn't related to LVG, but was something that would be better for players, and that he couldn't go into detail.

Considering it was as good as done, that Broomfield was off to Arseanal, does it make sense to think this could be what he was alluding to?

Was it Broomfield who was responsible for bringing in Sandro?

Apparently so, mate.

"But, it appears Broomfield will instead return to Spurs where he worked with Redknapp and has been credited with finding the likes of Sandro, Jan Vertonghen and Hugo Lloris."......

Feeds: Arsenal Harry Redknapp QPR Tottenham

Intriguing news has filtered out of north London over the past 24 hours – suggesting Tottenham chairman has trumped Arsenal in enticing highly-rated scout Ian Broomfield back to Spurs from under the noses of Arsenal.

Reports at the beginning of the month suggested Broomfield had handed in his notice at QPR, where he has been a long-term ally of Harry Redknapp, to join the scouting team at Arsenal.

Broomfield is widely quoted on the world wide web: “The opportunity to work for Arsene Wenger at one of Europe’s top clubs, like Arsenal, was too good to turn down. I appreciated my time at QPR with Harry, but this is an exciting challenge which I’m looking forward to.”

But, it appears Broomfield will instead return to Spurs where he worked with Redknapp and has been credited with finding the likes of Sandro, Jan Vertonghen and Hugo Lloris.

The Sunday Express report today that “Broomfield had been allocated a ticket for Arsenal’s Champions League tie at Bayern Munich this Wednesday.”

And, “When he learned that Broomfield had agreed the move to Arsenal verbally but not in writing, [Daniel] Levy moved in to offer the super-spy a lucrative contract at his club.”

Spurs finally get a “win” over a top four rival this season…

I don't think Levy comes across as a fan at all in his decisions i think if he was a fan there are a number of players that would have never been sold and Jol would have been the manager for even longer. He comes across as exactly what he is, a businessman.

He drops managers because he has an idea of where he thinks we should be (be it realistic or not) and if we aren't where he thinks we should be he sacks his manager and moves to the next one.

A few years ago i worked at a small company and the CEO sacked 7 VPs in 3 years because he felt they weren't moving the company in the direction he wanted fast enough...Levy (again rightly or wrongly) seems to have the same attitude.
