Not sure how it is 'clear' Baldini has wasted a lot of the Bale money. I thought Baldini was brought in for two main reasons. Firstly he knows how to close deals and secondly he can spot young, up and coming, talented footballers. No doubt he had input into how some of the Bale money was spent but the Transfer Committee would have had final say. Will all the members of the Transfer Committee also be getting the spanish archer if that is what is happening to Baldini ?

I did say IF he is responsible for the transfer.
I know its early days on our 2 huge money signings but the signs are not looking good

Maybe. Luke shaw????

Making a move for a LB?.....surely that couldn't be right.

We are always supposed to have a position that is lacking, if we don't then the supporters have no position to complain about us being short at (aside for the 3 months a season when we never have enough defenders healthy).

A&C has said it's not player related...

Maybe supporting Spurs has turned me into a depressed pessimist but for some reason I just get the feeling LVG is not going to do a good job for us. Don't know why I feel that, but I just do.

Maybe he will, maybe he won't, but one things for sure, we need someone with a name and reputation to convince some of our players to stay. Even though it didn't work out with AVB I still believe his reputation around europe is what helped us attract alot of the talent we bought in the summer and that sort of name needs to be here again. We also need some sort of structure and system which we seem to be sadly lacking under Sherwood at the moment.

It's probably because he's a dictator style manager, who wants control over everything. He's also a no nonsense manager who tends to fall out with a lot of people, and to be honest I think at the minute we're doing well because of group harmony and happiness within the squad more than anything else, which was possibly taken away under AVB. Our most successful managers of recent times haven't been the ones who weren't particularly tactically astute but those who were good man-managers. I would be excited if we got LVG, but I too get a strange feeling about it..

Group harmony could be down to lack of demands and expectation on the players from the management team.

Everyone likes being on Holiday.

Just saying..

I would imagine LvG would spend all his time in the stands if he reacts to the corrupt refereeing we are seeing today, as against Citeh, as so often with United and Liverpool, as I imagine he would react...as I would react if I were a manager!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The answer to jj's mystery, perhaps (or has it already been posted?):

Ian Dennis ‏@Iandennisbbc

Interesting development at Spurs Daniel Levy has enticed top scout Ian Broomfield back to WHL. He was all set to join Arsenal #AFC #thfc

I think that is it, JJ is a big Broomfield fan. He gave us ITK that he recommended Oscar to Levy and Harry for £3mill when neither were keen and then again, the season after and AVB wasn't keen

That last bit is nonsense as AVB had recommended Oscar to CFC when he joined but they never pursued it. Only when he took over at us and immediately went for Oscar did CFC come in and outbid us.....

Well thats what Burt claims, am I correct?

Edit: AVB's target was Willian

From Ali Z:

Some info on some of this -

LVG deal on the table not done. 4 others in contention, LVG is chairmans first choice but he always likes to play poker, doubt this relationship will work. Prandelli, De Boer and Jurgen all interested. I want De boer or JK, though our chairman falls out with them all sooner or later, then spins it to blame them.

Baldini gone in summer. Will be blamed for Bale sale and wasting money.

Sherwood and his mates gone too. He knew all of the things he said today before he took job and still took it, he was offered players but refused. He knew he had to get top 4 hence today's outburst, though some truth in it, some of it is about self preservation.

All intreating and sounds mostly plausible. The worst part of that is Baldini going. Clearly didn't have much input over summer save for Lamela as most of the new buys where targeted before his arrival. As far as I understood his major roll was in helping negotiations not picking out targets last summer. Tim, especially after tonight's outburst, won't be here past summer.
