Lol, Sugar was a godsend after Irving Scholar getting in to bed with Robert Maxwell. We could have been the first team to do a Leeds/Blackburn.
"Luckily" we only got a 12 point deduction, kicked out the FA cup & a fine (initially).

Klinsmann et Ginola also say hi. Then again so does Clive Wilson ?

But we'd be getting 2 players in, which is pretty good for January.
I couldn't give a toss if we pay for them now or later, in fact I'd probably prefer a loan with option because we get a chance to see if they fit or not.

The quality of a signing isn't necessarily linked to how much they cost.

Precisely and I just think, and perhaps its human nature and perception, that we want money spent and we link it to oh we are backing Conte...or oh we are finally gunning for the title.

That entire thread is quite interesting...

George Bannister and P O'Keefe are suggesting that Traore is at the 'green light' stage and that if we can't get Diaz done, we can press that button but also Conte hasn't decided on Traore yet.

So maybe that is the hold up rather than Mendes, Barcelona, Levy or money.

Apparently Conte wants Amrabat (accord to POK) also, but I wouldn't expect the narrative to shift ?‍♂️

Can you really call a player who is still only midway through their breakout season an 'elite player'? His numbers up until this season are not exactly groundbreaking.

Seems bonkers that Conte hasn’t decided on Traore yet.

Heard a guy on talksport saying Porto are notorious across Europe as being hard to deal with when buying their players, they don't sell for less than their value.

Perfect. lol.

Well with the latest ITK update about them having depts + corona times maybe change their position a bit in terms of just saying no

It is funny how we are in uproar if we dont get ACs choice in Diaz because we arent backing him but when Amrabat is rumoured - its like how the hell are we not backing AC and why the fuck we going for him.

You cant have it both ways.

Probably not but if we had moved for Vlahovic a year earlier we strike gold. The time for a player like Diaz and a club like us is to strike now.

I mentioned it the other day, but I think people project on our managers far too much. People will hide behind "back the manager" or stuff like that, but it almost always means "buy who I want/like", and if there's link to a player they don't like, it can't possible be someone the manager wants. Not just on here, but all over social media.

I find it a more enjoyable experience to just observe and be optimistic about it all. I don't see what there is to gain from betting against us for bragging rights

It seems Amrabat is the easiest back the manager signing to make in the history of sport.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same person, but I wouldn't call a 25 year old with over 200 senior apps and 31 caps one that's in a "breakout season"?

I read it differently, I read it that Traore we can press the button but we don't have to right away and it may be worth waiting a day or two more and Diaz is the one that's still progressing and so we're giving that the effort but neither is dependent on the other. That said I actually think that with Traore the sand in the baby oil is Mendes.

Maybe, could be both. He did say Conte hasn't decided though but I would believe it if Mendes is being a problem.

Last January Vlahovic had scored 10 goals in a year and a half of Serie A. He wasn't a breakout star until the second half of that year - Diaz's profile is already much larger.
