I would much prefer him to Saurez TBH, fits the mold of one up top better, and has to be a better proposition than Crouch even if he is lacking matches this season.

Saurez may be an upgrade on Defoe in time, but we're not Barca (yet) so playing with a shorty up top on his own may not be the greatest use of our talents.

Suarez is 7 years younger, if he turns out a flop he will have some resale value. Coming from the Dutch league he will also ask for less higher wages.

Suarez is about the same height as Fabiano, but seems shorter because he's stockier (Suarez is taller than Forlan, but looks shorter because of this).

Fabiano can fuck right off imho. He's had only one "top" season in European footy and a couple of good/ok ones yet he thinks he's the bollox. NO THANX!!!

- Too old

- Too expensive

- Having a terrible season

- Couldn't even hack the weather in France, let alone rainy England

fabiano is a good player and id still be happy with him signing.

but, i cant imagine him forming a partnership with anyone but crouch, if he plays alone defoe on bench regularly?

suarez and rossi are better options imo, why? because both can play with crouch or defoe or pav.

Fabiano plays best off a big man (Kanoute)

Suarez plays best off a big man (Huntelaar, Cavani)

Rossi doesn't really.

Tbh I don't want Defrouchenko anywhere near the side again - I want a forward who can play with vdV.

But it seems that we (Harry) have decided that it's VDV and A N Other up top.

I can see a good partnership with Fabiano and VDV.

Saurez seems more of a nuisance striker buzzing around, but offers little presence up top (maybe why he looks short?)

can see why Harry prefers him to Saurez (if ITK is to be believed)

Fabiano does not play one at the top striking role very well, he is very moody player, not a team player and above all, he does not believe in passing to anyone. And it is not as if he ia a prolific goal scorer.( just my observations)

Suarez for me any day above Fabiano.

Am I right in thinking both Fabiano and Suarez are cup-tied for the Champions League?

Not a huge deal, it's the league that we need to concentrate most of our efforts on.

I love the way you change your ideas to support whatever crap you come up with. Last summer you were all "Huntelaar couldn't hold up traffic, not to mention a football" now he is the big man that used to Suarez play off. Unbelievable.

TBH seen more of Fab than Saurez, but when i have seen him (Suarez) he seemed a bit head down when on the ball, running around with little awareness of those around him.

One other aspect in the Fabiano vs Suarez debate, my guess is that Fabiano would be a loan with an option to buy whereas Suarez is an outright buy. Given the risk inherent in either of them fitting in I'm guessing this might swing DL towards Fabiano.

Must admit, I'm underwhelmed. But as with JJ, I am prepared to be convinced.

Suarez wouldn't be my first choice but he's a damn sight better option than Fabiano who is past his best and overrated in the first place. Huge wages and no resale value and currently in shit form. What's to like?

have people actually seen suarez play?? i haven't much, but i've read and watched a little and can't see how he'll fit into our team. Yes, he's exciting, a big name, mb the right price, the right age... But... he's not the player we need. He generally plays out wide, cutting in from the left or right with the ball. ie would be making pretty much the same movements as lennon and bale, just from not as deep. if he stays in the middle, he'll be bumping into VDV all the while.. I can see why Harry would prefer someone else... Tim Vickery echoes this, has seen a lot of suarez, and is a spurs fan.

It's not just about the best 'name', we're past that now. It's the best fit, personality and playing style.
