I think he's partnership with Forlan was a pretty good indicator that he'd link pretty well with VDV.

I honestly can't believe that Redknapp is dithering over signing Beckham instead of spending the money on Saurez.

He's no more of a gamble than Berbatov was. We paid 15m for Keane and Defoe FFS.

Thought Forlan carried Suarez a bit tbh.

Suaraz is too much like Defoe for my liking (though he is clearly better) - small, deceptively slow, likes needlessly blasting the ball and not proven against good defences.

He looked decent at the WC, but I havn't watched him enough to have a firm opinion on him so to speak.

But surely he has got to be better than what we have.

I would take him without hesitation. The most realistic striker signing out there, and has already expressed intrest in joining spurs before.

He is like a defoe type but more explosive. He also likes to take the ball from deep positions. When he gets the ball he always seems to run with it, or shoot. Offen runing into dead angles. When other options seem better. Can hit a ball as hard as anyone.

If we sign him it would suggest we will try and make a VDV + small man combo. I like what Ive seen of Defoe + VDV so Im up for moving that direction.

P.S. My observations come from 3 ajax games and the world cup ones, so expect me to be wrong

Forlan and VDV are incredibly similar players, operating in very similar ways. Suarez and Forlan were an excellent partnership.

Suarez has impressed me nearly every time I've seen him, he's a fucking massive improvement on Defoe. Better finisher and much, much tougher.

He's never going to be our Torres/Drogba, but as the pure striker I'd swap him for Defoe/Keane and Pav together.

Article seems like a load of rubbish to me. Redknapp's 'impulsive' comments to the press came after the story broke in several newspapers. Also got our previous transfer record wrong. All the stuff about LA Galaxy being worried about Beckham seeming more our property than theirs just seems made up.

He is. Absolutely no question at all. Stick his name into Youtube. I'm sure there'll be plenty on there. You can't tell from that much about his all round game but even if he's got none (but he has) you can tell he's got more about him - finishing wise - than what we have. I like the fact that he's got a bit of feisty in him too, strikers need it, especially in this league.

Both feet, inside box and outside box.

A bit of fire in the belly is definitely a plus too. I'll take a look for sure.

If he's an upgrade though this is a no brainer for me. Is 17 million or there abouts in the right sort of region for him?

Would much rather sign Rossi.

You're the one that always bangs on about pace needed at this level B-C, well Suarez is average paced, not overly strong, he's aggressive but not always in the right situations. Asked a couple of Ajax fans' opinions on him and they all said he's more of a Europa League level player currently than one that would make an instant impact for a club like us.

He reminds me of Tevez in his style, attitude and strength. The amount of chances we create if he comes and continues his form from ajax it would be truly brilliant!

I like him and have explained why I would take him, and although he is a great striker of the ball, (not really a finisher, a bit like defoe in that respect) he does blast some very wide. Its him movement that is impressive, and had a better world cup then people give him credit. He is incredibly wastefull, and will have to change his game in the PL, but its his sheer quality that outways any doubt that we should go for it. Yeah its a risk, but he could be the beginning of a "Torres"

He's definitely less wasteful than our three current strikers. He can use both feet for a start (Defoe can't) He'll never be a Torres, but he is a robust little fucker who can use both feet and is happy to go in where it hurts.

I disagree that Defoe can't use his left foot.

He's not slow though. He's similar paced to someone like Tevez. Quicker than both Keane and Pav. Your Ajax mates are talking out of their arses. The bloke got 4 CL goals in 6 games as Ajax missed out by a point, including a 2-0 away win at AC. He has 17 goals in 34 european games.

I think the Tevez comparison is a good one for Suarez, they both remind me of tough, nuggety, mongrel-like forwards. I don't think Suarez quite has Tevez's upper body strength, so might take him a while to adapt to the PL.

All in all, if we could get £15m for Kranjkar, Keane and Bentley, and get in Suarez and Pienaar for around £20m, we would be laughing IMO.

I think Suarez would be a fantastic signing he works his arse off for the team and has great belief in himself. He has the ability to find space even in the box.
If Man City offered us Tevez for £17m,we would bite their hands off. This guy is the closest thing to Tevez that we could buy.
Premiership defenders hate strikers who are in their face all game and this guy has that in spades.
