Morning fellow Yido's!

IMO Modric would make our midfield the best in the EPL (could already be anyway) but the only EPL team I can see him going to would be to CFC to reunite with JM. That's only if he is forced out of RM of course. Would hate to come up against him in CFC blue a couple of times a season but I'm pretty sure we would get a % of his transfer fee?

yes i agree but we would need to go 3-2-4-1 to accommodate them all

Lloris
Walker - Kaboul - Verts
Paulinho - Sandro
Lennon - Modric - Dembele - Bale
Soldado
Subs: Dawson, Livermore, Holtby, Chadli, Ade, Falque, Freidel

Modric with Soldado making the in the box runs ahead of him would be brilliant. He was never a great goal scorer even if he scored a few great goals, but I think he was a great assist provider that never got ther credit in assist counts because invariably he never really had a fitting quality striker ahead of him

I can't see why Real would let him go, he was one of their best players in the second half of last season and even in the first half he seemed more the scapegoat than the poor player the Madrid press tried to make out

Sadly I think he'll stay and really shine there, but if for some strange reason they were prepared to put him in the deal and he was happy to return then that would be brilliant as we badly need a creative mid and one of Modric's quality would be fantastic

Sheringham, Keane, Defoe and Kaboul are all players we have taken back after they left.
i don't think it really means that much.

Kaboul and Defoe never walked out on us...
Keane i never wanted back ..

You say it doesn't really mean that much, thats upto you, but it depends on how they leave not if they leave ...and it matters to me btw, it matters alot, your entitled not to be bothered ofc, everyone measures values and loyalty differently.

Luka Modric wants to become Manchester United’s star summer signing.

Modric is prepared to refuse to be part of Real Madrid’s world record package to sign Tottenham star Gareth Bale in the hope United bid for him.

United boss David Moyes has suffered a frustrating summer so far.

He is yet to fully give up on Cesc Fabregas, but has been forced to consider Modric as one of a number of alternative targets for the champions.

Moyes remains keen on signing Marouane Fellaini from Everton, but, ideally, wants two midfielders before the transfer window shuts.

Spurs would like to re-sign Modric, either as part of Bale’s expected switch to Real or independent of that transfer.

But Modric, 27, is understood to have no intention of moving back to White Hart Lane, as he waits to see if Moyes firms up interest in him with an official bid.

There's no chance that Modric will be leaving Madrid this window, none whatsoever.

I think if Dembele sorts out his fitness he could be better than Modric. He's ridiculously good at his best but the problem is that he seems to be playing with a couple of fitness issues.

similar but defo a difference, but its modric alll day long, he truly is world class!

once modric settled in and had regular appearances, he began to run the midfield just like he did with us, the guy is so underated in general, you can see how much of a dynamo he was at the lane, our mid hasnt been the same, the fluidty he brought def to mid to attack, genius and always does his share of tracking back getting his leg in too! only thing he never was able to do was score more goals, if he had he would of been snapped up ages ago, i would him back at the lanr but will never happen imo, n defo not withoutvCL footy.

It depends what formation Ancelotti intends on playing. Modric's initial problem was that he couldn't displace the more physically powerful Xabi Alonso & Khedira as the CMs in Mourinho's 4-2-3-1 and Ozil and DiMaria were ahead of him for the AM slots next to Ronaldo. Plus Luka's world class composure when opponents try to close him down in midfield seems to evaporate when he's clean through. Ozil is a much better finisher.

If Ancelotti is playing with three out and out midfielders, then I can't see him being willing to sanction the sale of Modric.

However, from the financial perspective, if Real Madrid are going to pay a fortune for Bale, with a hefty down payment insisted upon by Big Joe Lewis, they may need to sell a top player. I suspect Manure would pay a big fee for Modric as he would be a huge upgrade on what they currently have in midfield (the limiited Cleverley, old man Giggs, never done it consisentlyy Anderson etc), and he would significantly improve their first team.

I really hope this rumour is rubbish and Ancelotti keeps Modric in Madrid.

I think he's started every pre-season match.

Modric has played in everyone of Real's preseason games. He's now fast becoming one of their best players and Ancelotti loves him.

There is no way they'd let him go.
