Blimey, he went down theatrically without being fouled, he'd been bumped a few seconds earlier but that was well before, he got a deserved yellow card which led to a red no arguments he had to go and he went, end of.
The word I'd use is stupid but some of the hand wringing in here is a bit over the top isn't it?

Jonathan Pearce was way over the top on MOTD. Shouting ‘shame on him’ several time like he had just invented diving. The only difference between this dive and most others is that he was rightly booked for it. Is Pearce going to call it out so vehemently for players who get away with it?

The camera angle for the game was terrible. Was the camera man in the attic at number 32, sitting oil the Christmas decorations, next to box of old baby clothes?

MOTD saying that Micky VDV our 7th Dutch player to score in the PL!

Can anyone name the others?

I can think of Van Der Vaart & Edgar Davids…

Who are the other 4?

Yep JP as over the top with his commentary there for sure.

Did Danjuma ever score for us in the prem? Remember his debut goal in the FA Cup but can't remember another.

He can’t have played more than a couple of minutes in the league due to Conte’s stubbornness.

Seen a bit of discussion around this, and so want to throw my two pence in.

Bissouma was stupid to dive. Really really stupid. He knew he was on a yellow, and whether or not he thought contact was coming there was just no need to do it. He also didn't need to make the foul for the first yellow, and the ref was perhaps a little hasty in giving it, but understandable.

My frustration with the booking for the dive is around consistency. So often we see players go down looking for contact, the refs don't buy it, but they just wave play on. Bissouma was treated as per the letter of the law, which is fine. But it's so frustrating that that outcome is so few and far between.

I think refs are reluctant to book for simulation unless they are absolutely convinced. There are some instances where a player goes down without contact but isn’t intentionally diving. The Bissouma one was obvious.

I remember him scoring a lovely goal against united on the last day of the season. I recall the day fondly as I was a youngster and met Teddy Sheringham in the players lounge after the game - it was the summer he returned to the club.

Again, I believe it was the right decision. But he didn't feign injury or try to sell it once down. Seemed like he knew he'd cocked it immediately. Just would like to see refs treat all dives the same.
