A week to get this back on line. We’re talking about a commodity that doesn’t have a list price. No wonder their chairman is trying to get the best deal whilst we try to get the lowest ourselves. Must happen all the time - Sanchez, Foyth etc

Now that we have fallen back in love with Malcom, Bordeaux play Lyon at 4 on Sunday. Should be a good game, and you can also watch it and lust after Fekir who I still wish we would sign as he is everything we need. That match is live on BT sport 2. (y)

Now that we have fallen back in love with Malcom, Bordeaux play Lyon at 4 on Saturday. Should be a good game, and you can also watch it and lust after Fekir who I still wish we would sign as he is everything we need. That match is live on BT sport 4 and the Spurs vs Newport game is live on BT sport 2 with KO at 5.30 so you should be able to catch most of the first game before the Spurs match. (y)

Have to say I'm surprised someone hasn't moved for Fekir yet, similar to Lacazette really. Assuming clubs have approached and it's not a goer.

I suspect it will drag on to deadline day if there is a deal to be done. If we aren't going to get him until the summer you can bet (quite rightly) that we will try and batter down the price as much as possible.

I don't know whether we obsess over sell-on value or not, but if we don't it simply diminishes the amount we have to spend, so works against the money = success theory.

Anyway, where do you place a player like Malcom in all this? Would he be a good buy?

I think it’s exactly the type of signing we should be trying to make, and also (hopefully) represents a recognition from Levy that his transfer policy of the past two summers has failed miserably.

Let’s hope we can get it done.

I reckon a lot of teams have enquiried but probably given a flat no, at least until summer. With Lyon being second in the league and very likely to get CL selling the crown jewel at this point would be idiotic. Fekir is having a rediculous season, 19 goals in 26 games for a midfielder is really something. I get the feeling a lot of teams didn’t realise how good he could be. I still think he will leave at the end of the season, but most likely for 70/80 mil no doubt. Can see someone like City buying him just because they can, or maybe Real who will no doubt have a complete squad overhaul after this seasons failure. Anyway, I don’t want to derail the Malcom thread anymore.

I'm assuming that you are, in fact, joking but i don't see how it is racist to say that two people look similar. I have a mate who looks a tad like harry kane, is that racist because they're both white?

I'm outraged and I demand a week off work to recover!

Disagree and agree.

Disagree that the last 2 summers has failed miserably, but agree that I hope we can get it done.
