If you need a goal and you bring Sissoko on you are either:
A) Looking to get sacked, like Jose did.
Or
B) Miles out of your depth, Like Mason is.

Fine if you want to say that Ndombele played himself out of the team, but that doesn’t explain why Gio came off instead of Winks.

From the moment the substitutions were made we were utterly incapable of passing the ball forward, and it was because of the players we had in midfield. A different manager (perhaps not Jose) absolutely would have made a difference. Mason got it completely fucking wrong.

Mourinho made some shocking changes himself. Or waited too long to bring on a player like Bale.

I'm not going to put this on Mason. FFS it's probably only the second game he's managed in an actual stadium. This is on the players. When you get picked to start in a final, whether you are Harry Kane or Harry fucking Winks, you leave nothing on the pitch. Nothing. I've seen players more pumped for the McMullen League Junior cup final at Ware Town than Spurs were today.

What the fuck has happened to this team? At the end of November we were comfortably beating City and Arsenal 2-0 and top of the league playing some of the best football in the least three years. And it ends like this?

No I'm not. They are very good. I know that. I saw a severe lack of effort again today though. I think it's been well established I don't like Winks but can anybody point me to anything at all he did in 90 minutes today. Seriously anything??

Baffling decision starting him. He is awful.

The reaction of people saying Mason is a coward and should fuck off is laughable. A parody of reactionary fan. Stuff like that makes me realise as a fan base we don't deserve trophies.

We fully deserve the legends tag. Not a single winner in that squad. Not a single winner in the boardroom. Our club are a joke from the top down, and the last 7 days make me feel embarrassed to say I’m a Spurs fan. None of those players have the stomach or the constitution for a fight and neither does Levy. Good money says he still makes himself the highest paid chairman in football this year

I don’t mind that we are outplayed, out classed etc. What I do mind is that those players can’t even string 3 feckin passes together. It’s disgraceful that performance. Really is. Toby and Dier did well, the rest wouldn’t even get in my 5aside team.
Not Mason’s fault, when they showed him at the end there, my Mrs said ‘oh I feel sorry for him, he looks like a lad that was stood up on a date’

explains it all.
To be honest, city suffocate you like that. It's pretty much always the same against city, including under Poch, it's very hard to get out of your own half, it's not unusual.

I honestly don't think there is anything embarrassing about this performance, we're just not good enough, and played against one the greatest teams to ever play football. Man city have won 30 out of the that 33 games. I think the players tried and I think it's just the gulf in quality that showed, I think a bit of nerves as well. To beat man city you need to make the most out of your breakaways, and we didn't.

If it meant getting £150 million on transfers I'd begrudgingly accept Kane being sold to facilitate a rebuild of sorts.

As much as feel a personal sympathy for what Mason has been through, there is no way he should be given the reign for the run-in and a league cup final - only Spurs can create so much of fuck up of their own club. We are finished as a top-four challenger for the immediate future & can only hope that something, anything positive changes in the long term

We got what we deserved today even though the goal scorer shouldn’t have been on the pitch. But yeah, we certainly didn’t deserve to win.

I understand Sonny had a terrible game but the vitriol aimed at him in this thread post game is shameful and frankly doesn't say much for some of the supporters of this club.
