The basic tactic of saving some of our best but not necessarily fittest players until the second half and digging in in the first seemed to have worked perfectly. Time to unleash Bale and N'Db and perhaps Lamela and we take off Moura who was fantastic and GLC who had necessarily spent the first 45 defending leaving Winks and bringing on Sissoko

After Wednesday I for some reason thought we had a (temporary) manager who 'got it'.

That it's the crap players who are a luxury, not the good ones. Then we play the last 20+ mins of a cup final wanting to score with a Winks + Sissoko midfield. As somebody said, as soon as that happened we could barely string 2 passes together

Levy really needs to step aside from the football side. I love what he has done for us on the commercial side but he really needs to get in a proper Director of Football (not Steve Hitchen) to work alongside a new coach and let them be responsible for molding a new squad.

I dont think Levy should be anywhere near rebuilding this squad beyond setting the transfer budget

Even if we had a billion pounds to pump into this team we wouldn't do it because that's not the business model. We buy young talent with the possibility to sell later for a massive profit. Until that changes, we won't win silverware regularly.
