What made us awesome last year was Dier sweeping up in front of defence and rhen dropping in while the fullbacks pushed up to boss the midfield and give us width. With wanjama that doesnt happen at all and we easily lose our flow

First time this season I have seen ManU tactically outwit an opponent so comprehensively. Their 433 has the measure of our 4231 because their components suit the structure ours don't, they win the ball and all of their Cm's can transition efficiently, taking advantage of the gaps that our Cm2 and marauding full backs leave.

I'd probably take Alli off, I know he's capable of "moments" but his fucking lack of care with the ball and lazy pressing is an utter liability today, leave Dembele on for now, bring Winks on and go 433.

I said nothing, but I wasn't happy to see Dembele and Wanyama together. Our full backs are miles up the pitch and the Tractor Twins are not picking up Mikky. It's a car crash, IMO.

When the three played together and Dembele was supposed to be further up, he continually dropped deeper and deeper and clogged the midfield up.

It's either Dembele as DM or no Dembele. Going to get slated but that's it folks. He is a detriment to our attack.

But you could argue that Alli is when he runs into defenders, tries to pull off silly nutmegs and has a very inconsistent first touch. Dembele might be safety first but he is good at recycling possession, he just needs someone who he can give it to that will actually make incisive passes.

We are not going to create anything if we don't start playing some short, sharp and incisive passes.

I think we have an identity problem. We don't know if we're an attacking team or a defensive team.

Yeah, that must have been why we were one of the top scoring teams in the league last season with Dembele playing pretty much every game.

Yes, and Wanyama likes to join in forward.. And Dembele sometimes has no choice but drops deeper than him..
