BBC reporting the attendance for yesterday's game was 58,262. Honestly thought we'd have over 60k for the first game back assuming the 58k is correct.

Hoddle said he was, but despite there being 100s of cameras all over the place (and you can bet they were all looking for him), there was not one shot of him.

I think he borrowed the other Harry's cape if he was there.

Maybe he was in the players lounge and didn't want to face the cameras :D

He was in the stadium apparently

OK, he may have been in the stadium but he must have been very well hidden away because if he was anywhere in public view, the Sky cameras would have found him, I'm damned sure of that.

And when they sang (quietly) "Have you ever seen Tottenham win the league?" that made my blood boil.
I don't mind it from Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Leicester but I'm not having it from City nor Chelsea who have bought their titles.

"No I haven't but I have seen Man City in the 3rd division" isn't very catchy but would be a decent response.

Was in North Upper, above the away end. "Where were you when you were ****" and "And you'll never see Tottenham win League One" was sung in retort.

Still remember 2007 playing them on final day with I think under a thousand in the away end. And a cup quarter-final the year later at an half-empty City of Manchester Stadium, same for any time we went there in the league. Such a blatant bunch of glory hunters.

Say it quietly, but it was Jose.

AG did say he thought a double pivot of PEH and Skipp would turn out to be awesome though.

But they're not a double pivot, at least they weren't yesterday. It was a midfield 3 with Skipp central, PEH to the right (Dele to the left).

So good to have a bit of positivity back. I'm sure we will have an up and down season with some poorer performances and results but this was absolutely something to build on in, what is still going to be a transitional season.

I very much enjoyed being back in the ground and the South lower was pretty positive and upbeat, much improved from the last half a dozen or so games I got to.

There might have been areas where a few seats here and there had to be clear for new Covid systems, and City might not have sold out. Certainly I was still getting club emails right up to match day advertising for One-Hotspur members to buy extra tickets for guests. Whether we were a couple of thousand short of capacity it wasn't visually noticeable, and the crowd were superb.

Having watched Pep's post match interviews yesterday only helped confirm something for me. All of Man City's trophies and titles are hollow victories made possible only by the coffers of their oil rich backers. When (and I say when not if) we lift a major honour it will have been an achievement which will have been accomplished through endeavour, commitment, team work and the synergy gained from such a combination. There is no monetary value you can put on that. When you genuinely earn something the hard way then such a victory is priceless.
I wouldn't swap you two trophy rooms of "bought" silverware for the feeling that such a long awaited success will give myself and no doubt millions of our dedicated and patient supporters all over the world.
It will have been well worth the wait.

COYS !!

I think the mere fact Kane wasn't even in the stadium yesterday speaks volumes to me. I believe the club has already accepted the fact he's going to be gone very soon and is now in the process of a major re-build with Nuno at the helm, putting into practice his own ideas. Just imagine, it's almost as if Fabio has said to him 'You have an empty canvas to create your perfect team. Go and enjoy yourself' and just going by yesterday's evidence there might be something in that.

I saw the look on Nuno's face as he left the pitch yesterday to some incredible scenes around a packed stadium, and I have to say, I got goosebumps. Whatever the Portuguese is for 'Holy mother of God, what a place...'! I reckon that's what he was feeling.
.
Yes I feel he’s gone- it’s just down to both sides to accept the value at whatever allows both sides to save face, win-win and all that.

When will the penny drop that those performances were down to HOW the manager set the team up and invited pressure...which invariably will lead to errors due to the constant barrage of pressure.

Did you notice once we scored yesterday that we didn't sit back and continued going for the 2nd goal. Having a proper midfield in PEH and Skipp offering protection AND a proper RB helped their course as Centre Backs......very lazy to blame Dier and Sanchez as being poor when we had the 5th best defence in the league last season even when Jose continously chopped and changed his defence.

In short it was a product of Jose's coaching and system/style of play...early days but this is my feeling.

Your penny needs to drop that these guys have had many poor performances before Jose managed the club (I'm not saying it wasnt also down to Jose's system) but they were being called out before JM managed Spurs. Lets hope they can be as consistently as good as yesterday, but we are not spending a lot of money on defenders for nothing.

I don't care if city were weakened, its a huge result and we got them at the right time. Sets us up nicely for the next few games.

If it had been The Woolwich way of reporting attendances then the attendance would have been shown as a full house as they give attendance as seats sold which means if a ST holder doesn't turn up for a match they still count as part of the attendance.
Spurs on the other hand being an honest club give the attendance as clicks through the turnstiles , all seats were sold for the game but there were several thousand seats available on TE so some ST holders decided not to attend the match, on holiday, covid etc , there were some empty seats which I could see so the attendance is correct. Even though it was 58,262 Spurs have received gate receipts for an attendance of 62,000 as season ticket money already banked.

Here is an example of the lying cheats up the Holloway Rd.

And yet we had the 5th best defence. So no it doesn't lie there anyway let's agree to disagree. It's only the 1st game anyway but I'm sure if both are here come 1st September that we'll concede less than last year at the end of this season.

We all know because everyone's been saying it for many years, Daniel Levy is a hard nosed little bastard and he will have his own valuation of what could get Kane out of the club. Having said that, now Fabio is on board, things may be slightly different and he'll be able to make great use of whatever funds we bring in, whereas before when Levy was acting on his own, he'd have absolutely no idea exactly how to use that money, it just all went into a giant pot.
