Dunno if it was pointed out but united have never lost a game in the prem they were leading at old trafford at half time. Something like 309 games, 286 wins, 23 draws and no defeats. (These stats are from Feb last year so may have increased but they've still not lost) would have been a good record to beat

Last season, or even seasons past this game would have been beyond us going behind so early.

Post match interviews with Ange, Micky, Skipp and Timo just showed how disappointed they were, and they thought we'd dropped two points.

End of the day if we are there or thereabouts when Madders, Bissouma, Sarr, and Son return then we will be a force to be reckoned with.

In Timo's first game after just two training sessions we can see that he will be a big threat moving forward.

Excellent team performance and a well earned point i think.
Surprising to see this very balanced post get a dislike! Not a whole lot of hot takes here.

They're lucky VAR didn't pick this one up as well. Looks like an elbow into Richy.

We really haven't been on the right side of VAR at all since we played Liverpool.

Nothing in that at all, Richarlison is weak there although think he's just play acting on it

I’m still disappointed we didn’t win to be honest.

We played well and dominated but it just never seemed like we wanted to go for their throats at any stage. It was almost like we viewed them as the old dominant Man Utd and so were happy to take a point.

I thought after we made it 2-2 we might have gone on to score a few more but the game was pretty drab in the end with both keepers not having to do much at all.

i know we have absences but Utd are awful and were there for the taking. You just know that if the roles were reversed, United (or any other top4 side) would have won that.

Feels like a missed opportunity.
Agree mostly but…

the players were knackered

Bentacur couldn’t do box to box anymore, having recently returned to first xi… timo, johnson, udogie, skipp, vdv etc

So the players didn’t try to push as hard (as we usually do) in the last 15-20 mins

There is nothing in that at all
Impeding the progress of an opponent means moving into the opponent’s path to obstruct, block, slow down or force a change of direction when the ball is not within playing distance of either player.

All players have a right to their position on the field of play; being in the way of an opponent is not the same as moving into the way of an opponent.

The performance was ok, yes we dominated possession, but not sure we created enough with it, the goals and Romero's header aside, while the shot stats look good, Onana could have gone to AFCON and it would not have made much difference. We were a last gasp Mctominay headed goal away from meltdown on here.

That being said, lots of players absent and squad illlness, so not a game to over analyse. Move on to the next one.

The garnacho dive being shown in slow motion is everything wrong with var doing slow mo shots. Udogie touched him for about 2 tenths of a second before garnacho throws his legs behind him in an attempt to buy the pen.

This has "pundits" saying udogie has pulled him back and lifted him from his feet because it looks like he's holding him for 2 or 3 seconds

Just taking stock, away against Manchester United with important players still out, debutants, our CB's first game back together after a few months and we're disappointed to be coming away with a draw!
We've come a long way in a short time.
You forgot about the illness in the squad, which was clearly affecting our legs in the last 20 minutes or so, and was probably the reason why we couldn't push on and get a winner.

Johnson was one of those struggling apparently.

I was surprised how little everyone on here was making of the squad illness in their post-match comments until about Page 95 when Alastair's tweet popped up - I think Johnson was clearly under the weather as he hasn't played this badly in any game yet this season. I reckon he deserves a lot more slack for this performance, but, yes, at the same time, does need to develop his conviction, as Ange has already said a few times this season.

It's an incredible stat but it stretches all the way back to 1984 and a 2-1 loss to Ipswich. Mark Hughes scored the United goal. When I heard it a few months back I thought it must have been a mistake but it's true. It pre-dates even Fergie.

I really fancied us to break it yesterday.

I thought they said on commentary that Leicester was the last in something like 2012

2014. That was away. They've only lost 4 PL games away while being up at half time. The 1984 stat was at Old Trafford. And they've never lost at Old Trafford after going 2 goals up dating back to 1910 apparently

Typical they went in ahead at half time with 2 goals. What with the Sky graphic they had prior to the game going on about the lack of goals at Old Trafford in the first half of games. Same for going on about Hojlund not scoring enough. You just knew they would score goals first half and Hojlund rifle one in like Haaland.

That was home or away and the Leicester game was an away one. The one I quoted was just home games.

It's an amazing stat. They should try supporting us - we've f**ked away 3-0 half time leads at home.

Always remember that Utd game , the late Richards scored 1 of the 3 goals first half at home. Then Utd blew us away 2nd half and won 3-5. How far Utd have fallen from those days.

There's one at OT that sits on my mind too, 2 up at HT, under Redknapp, and they got a penalty early second half from the mos5 obvious Ronaldo dive, Webb looking right at it. They won 5-2.

And they ended up scoring 5 goals in like 20 mins or something stupid all after the dive.

We've had a few shit ones against utd. Remember the nani handball penalty against gomes. Picked it up before the whistle went and then ref gave a penalty after.

Or obviously mendes from the halfway line. Those 3 are the matches that really stick out to me where we've been fucked against utd
