Big Martin Jol 2.0

brilliant hire and he brings genuinely everything we’ve been missing from the post-Poch managers. Everything they were - entitled, egotistical, dogmatic, defensive, checked out - he embodies the opposite.

The players will totally respect that.

The players have been used to coaches who like to express what the players lack but then don't blame themselves as well or even offer a caveat that it is early days.

Conte pretty much Said the majority of the team werent good enough after just 2 months (kept talking about assessing players for the first 2 months).

Players remember stuff like that so when you hit a bad patch, they suffer more.

Ange seems more thoughtful and considerate without letting players off.

Personally wouldn’t sell him to Bayern just for the fact they have been massive ****s about it and I think that’s how Ange feels

Maybe its akin to reading body language - but team seems more cohesive, and happy, under Ange.

A lot of that is coaching, but it's also leadership. Seeing players committed, and covering for each other, and genuinely looking like they are having fun again.

We still have a lot to work on - and have to show we can play at high octane for longer stretches - but the building blocks are very clear to see. And, its nice to see the players working hard to take all of that on-board.

We all do, mate, and that's nothing wrong with that at all. It's almost like only here in SC where doing that is a crime. It's ridiculous to be told that opinions can't be formed or must be rubbish from reading of body language. What else can we based on when we can't speak to the players assessing their tone of voice and looking into their eyes.

Wonder if we will sign anyone from the Japanese league and/or from his Asian connections, only 3 and a bit weeks left of the window and barely seen us linked with anyone from those shores which is surprising given his knowledge of that market as we’ve seen with say Mitoma at Brighton and others there are some gems 💎 out there to be found.

It's really impressive how quickly Postecoglou has transformed the team spirit despite the uncertainties around Harry. Onwards and upwards. 💪

probably already been said but he's absolutely destroyed the argument that this group of players isn't capable of playing attractive football that all the conte stans claimed was holding him back

I'm personally still somewhat holding my breath until we've played a couple of competitive games, but man is it looking tasty so far.

We need to move on from comparing Conte to ange. We were all saying the same about Conte post Nuno and mourinho. To be fair Conte changed a lot of the team and Ange is doing the same. When the season starts 50% of the back four will be different to last season's start if not more, the midfield will be 66% -100% changed and only the forward line 33% different to Contes first game.

Time to move on and just appreciate the good Ange is doing and hope he can solidify the defensive unit.

Loving what we're seeing as it's close to Poch.
