Great to finally get a manager in play on a long term contract who wants his team to go and play on the front foot. Long road ahead but I sense this will sit well with the players we want to retain and have a good feeling about this appointment, doesn’t have the same immediate inevitable outcome that Jose and Conte had. I’m still a firm Levy out (of all football decisions) camp, but this type of appointment brings us back to what I think Spurs should be about. The last few years always felt we were trying to hard to be something that just didn’t suit us, let’s play with a bit of swagger and flair again, stop obsessing about the narrative that you can’t enjoy supporting your team unless lifting trophies. COYS. My son who is 10 and has endured spurs for the last 3 years even said “oh the guy from Celtic, they played really well against Real Madrid and he seems like a nice guy” perfectly sums it up for me!

Holy f*ck, we actually have a manager - and one that is excited about joining

I'm not overwhelmed, but I'm pleased. He seems like an honest, hard working sort, who loves football, and wants to make a name for himself with what is (for him) a great opporunity.

All things considered, I'll take that. Good luck Ange. We're all rooting for you.

So much for the 2+1 contract eh..?

Four year deal is excellent and shows long term thinking. Actually buzzing at this and did not expect it to be announced this morning. At least we can focus on the squad now with that out of the way. Also it got done pretty darn quick after he won the treble on Saturday.

Very happy with this, and with Australian family I am even prouder.

COYBAP

Maybe it points to the fact there was in fact a plan.

Absolutely buzzing to have a Manager who actually wants to be Spurs for the first time since Poch's second last year*.

Welcome Gaffer.

*maybe harsh on Mourinho but whatever. Coys!

I’m a bit skeptical about this apportionment, but you can only win the competitions you’re put in. He’s done well in every country, but the PL is a huge step up compared to anything he’s done before. Best of luck to the fella. I’m rooting for you to turn our joke of a club around.
Agree, he wasn't my choice but now he's here I will back him completely and hope he proves my concerns unfounded. 4 year contract is a big statement from Levy so thats already a positive. I just really hope we have a good window now because this team is not set up for his style of football. Levy has to back him in the window. Also it's really important transfers get done before pre season not after.

POSTECOGLOUS BLUE AND WHITE ARMY! 🇬🇷🇦🇺💙🤍

I hope he gets a lot of say in the transfer window and youth players that he wants to try.

I can't wait for Spurs to get here to Bangkok in July so I can see Ange, the squad and hopefully a few new faces live.

I'll be going to the live training session the day before the game too, so hopefully hear him shouting about not passing it back 🤣 COME ON YOU SPURS!!

For anyone having doubts, I get it I did too but go down an Ange YouTube rabbit hole.

I bet it totally wins you round. He may not be the best manager but he feels like the right manager.

I hope we get an interview with him this week. Don’t really want to have to wait until 1 July to hear from him!

Positivity rains - long may it continue!

Expect a rebuild season but with football that will be enjoyable to watch after the recent dross

Believe the youth will be given an opportunity, which is much needed.

Hopefully means haven't wasted my money on my season ticket

4 years is good as long as there are clauses like no Europe club can exit.

Feels good to have a manager, hopefully a DOF following soon and we can start shaping the squad. Would like to see Ange making some quick decisions regarding some squad members so we can start to shift a few and make space.

We've been feeling shit about Spurs, all preying for the season to end.

Imagine how Ange feels today. Must be buzzing to get started. Makes me feel the same and I'm sure the players feel it too.

Perhaps slightly surprised but can see the rationale behind a 4 year deal - especially after the protracted Conte will he/won't he sign an extension malarkey.

That initial 6 months I think will be key in whether he can establish his methodology on these players used to low block, counter attacking football and get the fans united in the cause because I think we will be inconsistent as hell and results will be wild.

Anyway, the main criteria for his success won't be Ange's management per se, it'll be whether Levy can allow him to recruit who he wants in tow with Munn but nevertheless, i've warmed to this appointment and look forward to a much more progressive brand of football hopefully yielding to success in the not so distant future!

Can someone give me the low down on him. Formations, style of play etc. I've not been keeping up to date due to work commitments

will be like renovating your house - all joy and motivation at the beginning. Then you find the damp patches, rotten joists etc and you wonder what you have done lol

4-year deal is nice, but also a bit of a warning that neither side expect the club to immediately turn things around in this upcoming season.

The way I see it is even if it goes up in flames at least due to his ultra attacking style we will have taken the first steps in realigning ourselves with the sort of team we should be. Best case scenario we have discovered a tactical genius who takes us to the top, worst case the building blocks will be in place for whoever follows.
