Absolutely this.I'm excited but also writing off this season as the initial rebuild. Therefore no real expectations at this stage other than some positive football
Getting the same feeling but I don't expect a significant number of our fans to give him enough time. He needs three or four Transfer windows and a couple of seasons to really get us playing his way. Will we give him that amount of time ? I don't think so.
I think a lot of fans are willing to give new managers that first season (assuming we’re not in a relegation fight). It’s the 2nd season when we start to get impatient.Absolutely this.
Hopefully majority of fans think the same. He says himself that first 6 months can be very inconsistent & his early results usually aren't great. We need to accept this as fans and think of longer term. If fans have that approach then so will our board.
This especially applies when we hire what we deem to be a 'project' manager (e.g. Jol, Poch). When we hire the likes of Mourinho/Conte, fans want instant success because those managers also want to win now.I think a lot of fans are willing to give new managers that first season (assuming we’re not in a relegation fight). It’s the 2nd season when we start to get impatient.
If by 'season' you mean a block of three months, I agree.I think a lot of fans are willing to give new managers that first season (assuming we’re not in a relegation fight). It’s the 2nd season when we start to get impatient.
Read various Celtic journos/fans saying that since Ange arrived there he never said a wrong word. Based on his initial interviews at Spurs I'm starting to see where they're coming from.
Can't recall another Spurs manager in my lifetime speaking so well upon his arrival.
(Cue 2 points in 8 games again ).
I think we’ll get a couple of surprise results against some big teams this year but we’ll also lose a few games against some teams we should be beating. All in all we’ll win more games than we’ll lose. If he can get us 6th or higher that would be very good for a first season imo. I won’t be too disappointed with an 8th place finish (especially if we have a proper go at the cups and get to a final in one of them)Not saying 2 points in 8 games will happen, as long as we've invested in that defence rolleyes, but I do think we'll need to be prepared for some rough results/runs this season.
Players coming in are young and the rest will be transitioning to a new style of football that revolves around bravery. Patience is going to be a key theme and word this season.
Yes, he basically takes the view that if they aren't doing what he wants them to do, he has to teach them better. A slightly different approach to Conte!Read various Celtic journos/fans saying that since Ange arrived there he never said a wrong word. I think he means 180... and not 360.Sky Sports feature on our new gaffer and his job at Spurs:

Nah it's just a nice little tribute to Scott Parker.I think he means 180... and not 360.
Has there been any decent training footage emerge over the last day or so??
Some of your will like this
Also like that he says it's him that's wrong if players make a mistake when doing as he instructs them to..
Thought that was a brilliant thing to say as it alleviates players fears of cocking things up a bit somewhat.
