I found Ange's reply about formations interesting as I still can't shake the nagging feeling that right now we would benefit from playing a version of 3 at the back

Yes yes I know people hate it and yes I know he probably won't but when I look at our players I can't help but think a 3412 could be sensational.

We have some amazing wingbacks, now we have Maddison who would play in the hole behind Kane and Sonny , it would be lethal and doesn't need to be the turgid defence obsessed rubbish that Conte served up.

I know it won't happen but it's something I would like considered.
i would say if you dominate possession high up the pitch and plan to keep the ball as much as possible, 3 at the back is not needed as the centre backs usually won't be touching the ball. At least from watching how celtic played 3 would be wasting a player who could be higher up and controlling the midfield.

Been watching some of Celtics CL games under Ange. Interestingly he got his team pressing in a 4-4-2 then was more of a 4-3-3 in possssion.

They looked good at times but also pretty open at times.

Their lack of quality really showed against Leipzig & R.Madrid.

Hopefully now Ange has the likes of Romero,Maddison,Son,Kane etc Ange's style of football will be even better rather than Joe hart, CCV, Matt o‘Reilly,Maeda etc.

Genuinely don’t care about formations; don’t care who we sign; don’t care about ‘levy out’ nonsense. I care, purely, that we play a fluid, entertaining, & winning way. Feel as fans that we’ve been ridiculously patient since the poch excitement. Positive, flowing, creative football is my enjoyment of spurs. Am I confident of Ange? Not ‘wholeheartedly’. But I do feel his appointment is inline with what I would like to see… really looking forward to the season..,

I think Bissouma could be the key to the whole thing.

If he can recapture his Brighton form as a 6, he can improve everyone else and cover a lot of “lapses” in front of home.

The last training video gives a pretty good indication on how Ange will have us playing

Maybe more backwards passes than people might suspect, but very much one-touch and with purpose so they can use the triangles between the midfielders and defenders to find the free player who can put the attackers through.

There is a good video doing the rounds showing that Ange HATES backwards passes ;)

Yea Bissouma could be class.

It was really really interesting in Celtic’s CL game away at Leipzig, they let in a goal on the break because mcgregor took a heavy touch, they also let in a goal because Joe hart passed it straight to one of their players. Celtic had a decent amount of chances against a far superior side in terms of quality and they were missing their 2 best defenders one of whom is a spurs reject in CCV!

They also played Real Madrid off the part for 50 mins.

Give Ange better players but still the right players and very excited with time to see what he can do.

It's movement off the ball and passing into spaces (not direct to feet) that I like the look of. I think he'll also be tactically flexible as well as trying to make the best of what he has available which is the polar opposite of Conte. I don't think he'll be pandering to any egos either. Not being continually overrun in midfield should be another game changer.

"For members of the squad who found Conte’s training regime too gruelling, Postecoglou should be a welcome change"

Sorry if this has already been asked or discussed already but am I right in thinking his first official press conference is tomorrow?

Ange’s first press conference tomorrow lunchtime I believe.

Should be interesting, especially any Kane Q’s.

Big few days / week actually:
•Mon press conference
•Tue/Wed meeting with Kane and Kane + some other players due to return
•Likely to make a final call on the CB we pull the trigger on
•Final prep before we fly out to pre season and likely starting to make judgments as to which players he wants to keep around or not

Unless he doesn’t take questions on Kane (which will produce more questions than answers for us) we should surely get a bit more clarity on his situation. He’s gonna be asked about it isn’t he?

Are they not showing it in prison?

TV gif. Comedic actor Jim Belushi in According to Jim stands with his hand against the trunk of a tree. He whips his face toward the camera in utter shock with his eyes wide and jaw dropped as the shot zooms in on his expression.
