Enjoyed the press conference for what it was. The most important thing is what happens on the pitch now so not getting over excited.

I thought he completely smashed that presser. I've not seen anyone look so comfortable, particularly at avoiding the difficult questions while sounding believable. His interviews just before leaving Celtic, where he refused to take the bait on his future and still sounded pleased to be there, were even better.
I'll admit, that doesn't make him a great footballing man. It does make him clever. It also means he is really good at getting a message across.

The other bits that he made obvious in the presser were that:
He has a very clear message to get across.
Everyone gets a chance.
If people don't like his message "it might slow things down, but it won't derail anything". (A great line for setting out where people stand with him). He'll still get where he wants to and they are welcome to "do one" if it's not where they want to be.
He has a philosophy and not just some 'goals' - and the philosophy is the important thing, not the goals along the way. (True of any really successful manager.)
He embraces change as the way to achieve his philosophy.

Really enjoying listening to him so far (sucking in-breaths aside). Looking forward to seeing it translate into something on the pitch. Can't wait to see which players 'fit' and who doesn't.

he has it all to prove. He has to win over players , press , fans and the board. Nuno (nice bloke) didn't have the charisma or the football plan to do it and the other two thought they were doing us a favour by boring us to death.

I think a lot of the players have to win him over, not the other way round.

This version appears to be 20ish mins longer, haven't watched it yet so not sure what the extra parts are. Hopefully it works for people outside of Aus

Another good interview :)

Extremely rare for a manager to talk in terms of wanting to understand the soul of a club, what the supporters want and value, and then using that knowledge to represent them in the way that the team plays football. It's pretty much all any fan of any club would want to hear. It's almost the only thing that actually matters.

He says all of the right things. All of them. If he can get us playing this way and winning, it could be a special time for us all. The difference between this attitude and Conte, Jose, and to some extent even Poch...is stark.

Also loved how he just literally laughed off being affected by any media questioning and speculation around the club. You can tell that he couldn't give half a fuck what people are gossiping about, which is perfect.

This further confirms that he is on the right path. This team has players who played at a much higher level and some /most of them are able to play at a much higher level than they have as of recent. Adding some key cogs is important and that coupled with a change of mindset while jettisoning those who can't make the change is the fastest way to turn this ship around.

Another good interview :)

If he can manage half as well as he interviews then we are on for good times ahead.

I do worry a bit that it's going to take time to properly gel and we as a fanbase are pretty fragile. However his talk about the importance of the fans and understanding the soul of the club will certainly win him a bit more time.

We haven't had someone really represent the club since Poch left and I think he can fill that gap.

Feels like the start of an adventure, which is exactly what we need.

Still pinching myself that we actually have Big Ange as our Manager, when we started the process I never thought for a minute that Naglesmann would join us and from there Slot & Big Ange were by far my favourite choices based on their positive likeable personalities and exciting fast possession based attacking style of play.

I was convinced Levy would make another mistake and go for someone like Glasner or Galtier based on some previous ITK we got and the wool being pulled over his eyes that Glasner plays high energy attractive football and is a young talented manager who is available, luckily neither of those were appointed (not sure I could’ve handled a 4th boring defensive manager in a row! ) we looked at Slot and ended up with Big Ange.

I hope from his press conferences many of you can see just exactly why I and some others were so so keen on Big Ange and I think you’ll be even more excited once he starts to implement his exciting style of play, it’s also no coincidence we are signing super exciting to watch creative attacking technical fast players again such as Madison, Solomon etc as Ange needs and looks for these types of players to play his style of play.

Most of all I believed that Big Ange would be perfect in pressers etc to handle the media calmly and confidently and help bring a positive feeling back to the club.

Of course every manager is an unknown as to how well they will do resultswise but in terms of a fit for what we need I think he is perfect, I’m pretty confident he will do a good job and most of all we will enjoy supporting our club again.

More from Ange 😊
“My philosophy - 'philosophy' - I hate using buzzwords… on culture, to me it's just people,” the Greek-Australian explained. “It's people who define an environment. It's very easy to come in and say this is what I want the culture to look like but I've got people who don't fit in it, who don't have the characteristics or behaviours.

“So that's the first thing you've got to understand is what kind of people we have. The values that I hold dear are reflected in a lot of the values this football club have in terms of the way you play football but my basis for culture and behaviour is that we're all very fortunate to do what we do.

“There isn't a person who comes through these gates shouldn't come through with a smile on their faces, particularly the footballers. It starts there. If you have an appreciation and respect of your environment and the people there, I think it gives you a good chance to create something. Sometimes people need direction with that.

“If there's no clear direction and clarity around what that is supposed to look like people can go off and do their own thing. I understand that. I have been and I will be pretty clear around my expectations around what I think we need to be like as a group of players, a group of staff and as a football club, and I don't think that's too far from the kind of things that Harry was talking about.”

Key to that, he says, will be Maddison. A £40m buy from Leicester City, Postecoglou sees him as a creative spark, a goalscorer and a leader. The manager feels Spurs have been overly reliant on their forward line for goals for too long, and is certain the former Aberdeen loanee can bring an added threat.

“Really excited to get him as part of the group,” Postecoglou said. “Any manager will tell you that part of the key to being a dominant team is having multiple attacking threats and having a midfielder who can score and create goals, they're not easy to come by. He's proven himself at that level in the last few years, as somebody who can do that.

“When you look at Tottenham the last few years, they've been really reliant on the front three to get their goals. I thought it was a really good fit for us to look for a player like James - even better if we could get James. So we ended up getting James.

“I was really pleased and the fact that we did it early was great because it allows him to have a break. He's had the birth of twins so I don't know what shape he'll be in when he gets here. But once we get him in, it means he can come on the tour with us and I know he's really excited about joining the group.

“He obviously knows a few of the lads. And I think he's in a stage of his career where it feels like he can be a leader, which is great as well because we need players who want to embrace that responsibility within this group, whether it's their first year in or they've been here for ages. We're going to need leadership on the field and he feels like he can be a player who does that."

Don't think that Arsenal fan thought through the lettering on his shirt.

Unless he actually did?!

By the way, here is the video

Spurs have an 'Unproven manager'. Did he say this when Arsenal hired Arteta?

Ange mentioned he wants players coming into training smiling and being willing to work hard and have the right attitude, jokes aside I'm seriously intrigued regarding N'Dombele.

It will go one of two ways:
1) He has turned over a new leaf, matured, will knuckle down, get fit, will enjoy Ange's style of football and Ange wants to keep him and we see a £60mil player after all
2) Ange comes to the conclusion that his attitude isn't a fit for what he wants to build

We shall see.

Ange was very coy on talking about N'Dombele in the last presser, just said he was working hard, like they all are as they have no choice but we will see if its for him or not he said

Loving these interviews from Ange. Coming across very well. He has an awful lot of new (nearly new) players to integrate into the team:

Vicario, Udogie, Porro (nearly new), Maddison and Soloman. Add one maybe two new CBs, and possibly Lo Celso and Gil to that and he will have a very different squad to what we had last year.
