Expected assists and expected assisted goals share the same criteria for the pass (type of the pass, the location on the pitch, the phase of play, and the distance covered) with the difference being what happens after the pass.

Expected assists doesn't require a shot to happen after the pass for the value to be associated with it.

Expected assisted goals does require a shot to happen after the pass for the value to be associated with it.

e.g if a player makes a pass that is considered to be 0.3 xA (type of the pass, the location on the pitch, the phase of play, and the distance covered etc) but the recipient chooses to pass instead of shoot, the Stats will show 0.3 for xA but 0 for xAG for that pass.

That is according to Reddit anyway.

What’s the difference between an expected assist and and expected assisted goal? You can see why some people make fun of stattos as nerds when they have this kind of stat.
Other are using expected threat(more accurate IMO) but Opta for some reason named it as expected assist which for most means expected assisted goal. Here's good explanation for expected threat.

Some useless Ange facts:

1) Ange has never been in 1st place at any point in the season and not gone on to win the league.
2) Ange has never finished at a lower position in the league at the end of the season, than he has been after 8 games.

Who's getting the "League Winners 2023/24" tattoo now. Don't make yourselves look like an idiot by waiting until its confirmed.

Love this theory by Ange, and it’s so true! Other teams and managers know nothing about him, but he’s been watching them all very‪ closely.

“If we ever discover aliens, the trick will be we’ll find out they’ve been living amongst us a long time. That’s kind of me. That’s why I’ve got the advantage. I know all about you, you don’t know enough about me.”‬

Watching replay of Luton and noticed Ange’s attire

seems like he wears tracksuits for most normal games and then suits up for the big games

Burkinshaw, Nicholson, Jol, even Harry boy all recognised that we have a certain approach to the game. The story of Spurs passes from father to son. My old man took me to the ground in 1958, his father took him. The likes of Conte and Jose just don't fit, even though they are fine managers in their own right. When Burky arrived he was told that if you want to succeed you'll have to play the Spurs way; he laughed it off. After 6 months the penny dropped. Ange is doing everything right.

Perhaps the greatest of the lot was Arthur Rowe, he literally changed the way the game was played, and he tutored Nicholson and Ramsey.

Anyone know if Ange will be in the studio/pundit team for England vs Australia tonight? Seems like it would make sense, and personally would be the only reason to watch it :)

Yeah I’ve been wondering about this all week actually. He seems like an obvious guest. But at the same time I can see it being something that he might want to sidestep.
