I'm happy to enjoy watching us again even if we have the odd Ossie Ardiles match. The last 3 years have been tough (aside from a few months at the end of the 21/22 season). The only thing that gets me just a bit short of fully excited by it is the lack of a trophy for so long. Otherwise I would be that bit more relaxed but the agitation of no trophy stops me just short. I hope we can really go for the FA Cup. By Jan 6th we will hopefully be a bit better on the injury front and at least maybe get a signing or 2 early. On the plus side if we do fail to win anything its better to do so playing exciting football. We tried the boring way and not only failed to win anything but spent much of our time bored. The great start puts us in a great spot to go for top 4 in the league at least. This was always a transition season but as long as we continue to grow and build the squad in the next 2 windows it's going to be a fun ride. Still plenty to play for this season and it's not impossible we stay in the title race even. Just have to take it game by game and enjoy the attacking football to see where it takes us.

Fair play to Ange in sticking to his principals, and I’m proud of him the players for their showing for that, but for me the tactics were wrong. Fair enough at 10 men maybe, but not when going down to 9 to play such a high line, particularly when none of our defence has any pace. Not saying to go all out defensive, but think a happy medium mid block setup would have been better.
Yeah we had chances to score, but these were not down to the high line we deployed and if we did score, it was always inevitable Chelsea would break that line sooner or later and only due to Vicario, great heroic defending and poor finishing it was kept to just 4.

Loving the football we have played up until now, and want that style to continue, but doesn’t mean I think last night was right tactics to be deployed.
Big test coming up with the players out and whether we still play a high line, as it could end up as a car crash and out unbeaten 10 games could easily turn into 2-3 loses on the trot.

I trust Ange to get it right though and believe in him.

Pragmatism be damned. I’ll take I'm a hipster ball all day long. And the comparisons with Ossie’s team are ludicrous, as this team has excellent defensive foundations. Bring on Wolves. Haven’t been this enthused by Spurs since… forever. This is better than Poch.

There's been a lot of talk about how we were miles better than Chelsea before the sending off and we definitely would have won if it remained 11 against 11. I'm not sure I agree. After the disallowed Son goal we began to get very sloppy and they started to get a grip on midfield. We were making mistakes under pressure and those mistakes led to the penalty. I thought they were already beginning to get on top when Romero went.
I don't think the narrative of 'we only lost because of the sending offs' is especially helpful. We need to realise our shortcomings and improve them if we're going to challenge for top 4.
true but we had spells like that against Arsenal and United and readjusted to finish stronger.

We still played through Chelsea relatively well. I am certain we would have got better.

I’ve never been prouder of a 4-1 defeat before. That can’t be a bad thing. I’m feeling pretty down about our chances today but that’s more to do with the nasty injury to VDV than anything to do with how we played. We deserved a draw last night and the players played their hearts out for us.

Seen oppo fans already digging out the older videos of Ange to call him a hypocrite

Thick as mince.

He knows it is getting out of hand so is starting to have some self-awareness about it as he knows it can't continue.

Basically he is being the wise man and trying to draw a line. You cant have clubs making statements every week...That isnt the way forward.

Put your allegiances aside and stop being tribalistic about everything

Tough few weeks coming up now what with injuries, suspensions and who we have to play. No better man for the job though than Ange. My heart sank a bit when Eric Dier came on to be honest, but he gave it everything and played in a totally different way to what we came to expect under Mourinho and Conte. Ange obviously has everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

The first bump in the road of the process and i'm sure there will be more.

"That's not us or that's not how we do things" (Can't recall the exact words) After hearing that it is rampantly obvious we have exactly the right man in charge. We're going to play the right way, it'll punch us in the face from time to time but finally, fucking finally, we have a manager who can genuinely satisfy the phrase "We want our Tottenham back"

For the first time in far too long, we have a manager that just fits.

Last night was painful but I’ve reflected on how brave Ange and the team were for playing the way we did with 9 men. It was basically unprecedented at the top level. Seriously impressive really, and it very nearly paid off.

I’m so glad we have Ange.

Strangely, this is the best I've felt after any Spurs loss, EVER. Full credit to Ange. What hurts the most is VDV going off with such a bad looking hammy (and it hurts because we would have won if he stayed on lol)

Only a combination of superb heroics from Vacario and poor finishing from the opposition saved us from a real drubbing. Would you still feel the same about Anges brave tactics had we shipped 8 or 9 goals?

Man City 4-3 was our best loss ever.

Got us into the champions league semi final

Why do people always find a negative to spin?

We didn’t lose 8/9 and could have easily drawn 2-2.

Jog on.

Weren’t you the one banging on about keeping Conte when it was absolutely crystal clear that he was mentally checked out back in March? Glutton for shit football?

How does he always know what to say and how to say it.

People need to listen very closely and carefully about what he says about respecting and honoring authority when he discusses the officials. It's gone by the wayside to the detriment of families and society.

But we didn’t.

He was brave enough to trust the players and the way he’s teaching us to play.

Glory glory Hallelujah for that!

Beni lad, read the post by spursfan77 below your post.

gotta start thinking bigger, he ain’t about it all now, changing style to save a point, he’s trying to change a culture, a style and people’s confidence, it could have been 8-1 in the end and I truely believe he’d have atill wanted his team up high because getting that trust from the squad as a collective will bring everyone closer to the objective on the long run.

I’m proper sold on this manager.
