He brought Emerson on to play 5 at the back. Wonder if Ange has learnt from the Chelsea game that when the opposition have a numerical advantage but you have a score line to defend, there is no shame in trying to defend it and it doesn't undermine the way you want to play when you have 11 v 11.

Possibly, but then I think if he had a world class forward option on the bench he would have gone with them instead

Not sure about that - I think it was a response to them bringing on Wood to increase the numbers they had up top to challenge for crosses. Sensible move at 2-0 up if you ask me, so I am not being critical of Ange, just pointing out that perhaps he has privately reflected on the "even if we only have 5 players we're still gonna have a go, mate" philosophy and is now prepared to be more pragmatic in any given game situation.

The other thing being we had a 2 goal lead last night with 20 minutes left to play rather than chasing the game, so something real to defend.

Yes, I thought the 10 men had a more defensive look to it than usual..and fairly effective too.

If so, I like the idea of a certain amount of flexibility to deal with changing conditions.

It was 1-1 when we went down to 9 men v Chelsea, so we had a point (and at the time our undefeated record) to defend.

He did the same thing away to Luton I believe.

He seems to be getting on like a house on fire with Levy at the womens game this afternoon :ROFLMAO:

Levy always seems awkward when it comes to small talk and Ange absolutely hates small talk, so this looks like the best outcome for both 😂

We did exactly the same away at Luton when down to 10. The Chelsea game was a very specific, unique situation, that has been blown massively out of proportion, and treated as if it's the way we play every game, which it just isn't.

Great Neville starting already saying City should be looking at Ange when Pep leaves. Fuck off! Been here less than 6 months and pricks like that spouting shit that all the other lemmings in the media will start rinse and repeating
Yea hated reading that, absolutely no need for him to say that, prick.

Also this lack of discipline thing just isn't true.
Yea it’s more just been a few misstimed and reckless tackles but it’s not like our team are punching players and lashing out week after week.

Romero and Biss need to calm down a bit, but also VAR slowing every single tackle down isn’t helpful at all, Udogie is learning the ropes but otherwise we are ok.
