I couldn’t care less about ratings, but this kind of post is pathetic when someone has taken the time to put together a reasonable analysis. I’m not a mind reader but I’ve read Ange’s book, I watched everything there was to see on YouTube prior to his appointment and I’ve read most of his interviews so I’m actually basing my opinion on something other than blind optimism or popularity points. Judging by the way he’s managed his career, and if I put myself in Ange’s shoes, I think he’d go if the opportunity is there for him.

You're basing your argument partly on what you would do if you were him? If that isn't blind faith or optimism in itself I don't know what is.

People still have that fatalistic approach as Spurs fans. The irony is that Ange being here is actually helping to instil the belief that we can think positively and we can believe that the club can go on to win trophies.

The fact that he’s a childhood fan is one element but it’s deeper than that - it’s what Liverpool will represent to him. It’s no exaggeration to say that Ange’s entire identity, his relationship with football and his outlook on the game are built on his childhood experiences watching football with his father. The driving forces in his career have been the urge to make his dad proud and to carry the flag for Australian football. Liverpool are by far and away the prestige PL club in Australia, so what better way to boost interest in the game internally and raise its profile internationally than by taking the Liverpool job?

Putting the emotional stuff and the theorising aside, surely Liverpool are objectively a step up from? Spurs were a circus 6 months ago. Meanwhile, Klopp showed that it’s possible to build a dynasty at Liverpool, he won everything thatspossible to win and he might be leaving behind a title winning side to take over.

Finally, this is a guy that has defied all the odds to emerge from the footballing backwaters and get to where he is today. Would he stare a gift horse in the mouth towards the end of his career? He has already stated that he doesn’t see himself managing deep into his 60s and that he wants to see out his career in Greece. If Liverpool is his pinnacle, the risk of missing his chance and the potential for regret is far greater than the risk of failing there.

I realise that I’ll probably be labelled as a bed-wetting, amateur psychologist, conspiracy theorist based on the reactions, but hey ho. Goes without saying that I’d love for him to stay and I think Spurs are the greatest club in the land, just putting myself in his shoes based on what I’ve seen and read.

You worry too much about something which may or may not happen, but will definitely NOT happen until at least the summer as Klopp is staying until the end of the current season.

We FINALLY have good vibes at this club again, let's leave the negative stuff at the door for the rest of the season shall we? Especially stuff you're theorizing about a guy you do not know personally. Now, of course you could be right. But why keep focusing on it?

All I have seen on Sky Sports' website is Alonso being the name linked and even their Sky Bet shortlist didn't have Ange as an option among the favourites. I haven't been on X or anywhere else today, so if he has been linked then fair enough. I am yet to see it though and I for one will not worry about summer things until then. I will enjoy the Ange ride until he leaves and look forward to tonight's game.

If people disagree that’s fine, let’s talk and debate, but posts like that stymie discussion and add no value whatsoever. I think this is a non story. Alonso is already being spoken of as the next elite manager. He’s doing amazing in Germany and at the end of the season it would be perfect for him to move on. He is unlikely to have such a good run at Bayern next season as they will rectify their manager and squad heavily regardless if they catch bayer. Add to that he’s an ex player I don’t see it being anyone else. Not to mention the price levy would put on Ange’s head if they tried to poach

Ange will obviously be in their thinking. He’s announced himself as a fan and he is one of the few managers with a big enough personality to succeed Klopp and instantly win over their rabid fan base. Alonso will probably top their list but he could well turn it down. He’s still cutting his teeth and he’ll know that Liverpool or Real will come knocking again if he continues doing what he’s doing.

Ange on the other hand is at the tail end of his career and was pretty cut throat about leaving Celtic when a bigger and better opportunity arrived. Liverpool is probably his end game and although he’ll feel he still has unfinished business at Spurs, this is an opportunity that might not present itself again. I get the impression that his biggest motivation is honouring his late father and his inner child, not building dynasties.

If they come knocking, there’s no doubt in my mind he’ll go so I hope Pool have set their sights elsewhere.

Just to be clear, Ange only really leaves clubs when he wins something or has achieved all he can really achieve there.

We have lots of room to grow into and achieve stuff.

Ange's career trajectory suggests he will stay a while here until he comes to a head with the board and feels he has taken us as far as he can or he wins stuff.

Considering Liverpool are our rivals, I really cant see him making a step to them if he was to win stuff and compete here as that would then be a sideways step.

Lastly, Ange is now approaching the pinnacle of the game.

He is successful here and there really isnt much else for him to achieve, so it may be like Pep and a case of just trying to win as much as he can with a club he has built up a great relationship and bond with.

The only way I see him joining a rival is if he falls out with the board and feels he cant take us further forward and another club offers him the world to clear up.

The only club I see doing that is City. Who may not even be able to if they get punished.

Ange clearly loves being at the club, he said so. We are probably the healthiest club to be at.

Of course he's not. It's a totally ridiculous suggestion. When was the last time a top 6 side poached a manager from a rival top 6 side? It never happens.

"It depends how we finish the season. When you're going through it, no, because we started the season so well and you just want to keep going, but there's always a challenge and if it wasn't injuries it would have been something else, I guarantee you," said the Australian.

"Something else would have been in our path to trip us up and we would have tripped up, because we're still in the early stages of building a team, and when you trip up, what do you do? Do you get back up or bemoan the fact you've fallen down? Whatever those challenges are, and there will be more ahead - hopefully we're over his injury crisis but they'll be other challenges trust me - for me the good thing is we've handled the first one in a manner when I've seen the team grow and that's got to be our objective ahead."

I can’t imagine how some of the adults (wild assumption) on here would respond if something actually life changing or even remotely significant happened in their lives. God help some people.

Surely with all that research and what we know of the man, you must know by now he values integrity above sentimentality.
