Harsh. But, fair.

It is a little amusing looking back to Poch's first season - and we are doing slightly better this season - but there was a sense of optimism, and growth that I don't feel about this club right now. Maybe expectations are higher now - but Ange is going to have to hit the ground running hard next season, or he won't last until the end of next season.
I think that ridiculously good start we had hasn't helped him in some ways. Almost as if people thought that was the floor and so in comparison the rest of the season has been utter dross. S'abaht perspective innit.

Xg stats point mostly that we need better players, not a different coach. No excuses for set pieces though, elite coach would fix it months ago or at least make some changes. We will buy new players and fix some stuff but also new problems will arise, and if he can't fix them quickly then we won't be able to win anything. Teams have great scouting reports and know how to exploit weaknesses. I still expected worse from this season when Kane left so I can't complain too much. Next year it will be more obvious how good he really is.

The 2 goals mask what was a poor performance defensively(from set pieces again) and Arsenal were largely comfortable for the most part.

We were still getting played through too easily all game and defensive set pieces give me anxiety.

Fix up in the last 5 games or it's time to assess where we are with him.

People are on his back now. This is our problem as a fanbase, we’ve no patience. We need to give him time to build the team the way he wants it.
Oh absolutely we don't. I think though there is some pragmatism needed by Ange going forward. The football is a lot better but balance in defence midfield and attack is needed.

There’s work needed for sure. But I’m confident he will get this right given another couple of windows.

Not questioned until this game. The fact that he has come out and said he doesn’t believe a specialist coach is a real issue. He and and his coaching team have failed to address the set pieces which they clearly lack any sense of knowledge on. This is one game where we could not fumble, we were 3 nil down due to basic goals conceded against your rivals chasing the league its just poor

It's not that people want him out, some do I think, but most just want him to change.

We've shown little or no improvement all season and got defensively worse as we've gone on. The goals conceded from set pieces is painful every week.

A bit of post defeat hyperbole. We were comfortably the better team in the 1st half, created chances and generally had them in the back foot. 2nd half was going nowhere till Raya's mistake then we were on top again.
All today really showed to me is that he has us on the right tracks but needs some players in key positions in during the summer., with the Hojbjerg one being key to stop teams getting at us so easily

Open play defending was largely fine, it's just set pieces.

Im still a fan, but i have major issues…

1. set piece situation is a joke. Okay to be stubborn on tactics, but to not want a specialist when its our biggest glaring weakness is pure negligence.

2. this is a local derby and to not start our biggest shithouse in richy was a bigggg miss. I know he was coming back but he had two weeks to get himself up to speed. Dont want to see son up top anymore.

3. playing players who have been out of form and not dropping them. He has benched kulu before, quite simply madders needs dropping and a wake up call.

sort points 1 and 3 overall then i will be happy. Point 2 was more match specific and plenty can their starting line up wrong, just thought today was a big error.

It's annoying because it seems so easy to fix. Toughen Vic up, smarten Vic up, change who takes responsibilities for corners or something else, or this will keep happening.

Some of the comments are here are fucking pathetic. Constant fucking changes of managers does nothing. Let’s give at least one guy 2 seasons before we all lose our shit.

Today we had a penalty not given, Romero missing 2 headers he should have scored and Sonny missing a one on one. Also a ridiculously close call for an offside.

One of their goals was given to them and the other 2 poor defensive errors. Other than that they did and created nothing.

We have to stop this knee jerk bollocks every season. It’s embarrassing. We saw at the start of the season how good we can be under him and have seen it in patches for the rest of the season. We were light years ahead of Arsenal that second half. Maddison has completely downed tools for some reason and PEH never needs to start games. He is only ok when he comes on as a sub that’s it.

Let’s let Ange have another window, another pre season and see how he gets on.

It's not hyperbole. Arsenal looked dangerous every time they came forward and played through us with ease.

They allowed us to have the ball, they played the same way v Man City.

We were good first half but we were 3-0 down having no shots on target. We had a marginal offside go against us, and a possible foul on Deki before their second but we concede the same goal every week. Dominate, lose the ball, opposition counters and score OR header from a corner.

Is it.toughen up or just know.teams are targeting him and prepare the team around that for a few.games.unyil they stop and realise we sorted it.out.it really isn't hard to put a couple of defenders around him.

We always knew this season would be painful at times. If we were offered 5th or 6th at the beginning on the season after losing Kane on the eve of the opening game of the season we’d have all grabbed it.

look at arsenal now they had 2, yes 2 8th placed finishes under Arteta. We’ve got to keep the faith and back this man!

btw Ange please get someone or something different when organising defensive set pieces!

We have a right as fans to expect more than the set piece defensive shambles and weak goalkeeping we’ve seen over and over again since City.

Ange has consistently not addressed this fatal flaw in our play.

The rest of the game, and his work as a coach, is rendered inconsequential by this.

Dude there was almost a full page of people saying he isn‘t good enough directly before my post. People knee jerking and wanting him gone.

I don’t agree that we’ve shown no improvement over the course of the year. We were outstanding until the Chelsea game, and since then our season has been majorly disrupted by injuries, suspensions, international tournaments and weird lengthy gaps between bursts of three games a week.

Key players like Son, Bissouma, Sarr, and Maddison all look fucked right now, which is understandable given the disruptions and injuries and the amount of games they’ve all played.

There’s tonnes of work to be done, but we are on the right track.
