Anyone else notice that Lucas seems to be playing the Alli position from the 16/17 season where he was a second striker off of Kane. Poch seems to be using him there and Dele a bit from the left.

On a different point, when Dele came inside more after half time it really caused them problems as Man Utd didn’t know who to pick up. A really good change from Poch at the break.

Anyone catch the big fuck faced Sam on the Brazil show this morning? Since 6am he's basically saying how fluky, undeserved we were to win, and keeps repeating how many more shots United had than us, more possession etc. I know he's always had a massive downer about us but it really is quite unbelievable the landfill of shit spewing out from his deformed fat face this morning.

so pleased for moura. said he'd be a favourite. seems like whoever helped him with his finishing (something he lacked after his mazy runs at PSG) did a great job. roll over watford. sorry i meant roll on watford....

Being fitter would help with that so much so that he might not have had to do anything else....

They really really wernt much the better side for the first 30" I'm absolutely stunned how people think is the case, well I guess because Neville says it, it must be true. Normally agree with Neville but not on that one.

Indeed, the shots stats from the first half really didn't reflect just how much we opened them up. There were a lot of occasions where we got into good positions but the final through ball or return pass just didn't quite come off to allow the shot. On another day, the ball breaks for us and we're a couple of goals to the good.

If anything it was 50/50 but I was happy with how it went. Rose made one mistake to give them their best chance but we blates should have had a penalty through our own efforts.

A classic case of people looking to stats rather than their own judgement.

Just saw a stat reported on the BBC tnat Man U had 23 shots to our 9. How many chances did they have? I cannot remember one other than Lukaku's eipc miss form Rose's back pass. We could/should have scored with all of ours as they were all decent chances.

How bad were United.
Shrugged philosphically when Rose set up Lukaku
Got worried as usual at 2-0 up.
Ragged first half by both teams.
Big lump Lukaku missed a sitter
and we were denied a penalty.
Dele missed three chances to either score or set up others.
Stop thinking and just do it .
Shows that spending hundreds of millions
and trying to somehow fit them in
is inferior to building a team
that is comfortable with itself.

Yes, I listened to his utter shite this morning on my way to work. This bloke is an absolute twat who loves the sound of his own voice. You will note that anyone with football knowledge and respect in the game take the piss out of him.. He will look at any opportunity to get a platform to voice his ancient and out dated opinions.. He and Talk Sport are are a perfect marriage

I think what everybody seems to be missing about last night's result is how good the side they were playing was, maybe United weren't at their best but against a good side they may still have won, last night they didn't play a good side, they played a top top side, one of the best in the country, it's a shame that seems to have been missed by, well by pretty much everyone.

I disagree. I think they should sack him now. It was madness to give him a new contract back in January as the signs were already there. He just brings negative energy and destroys clubs. He needs to buy the best, finished article players (as he cannot coach) and then shoe horns them into an ultra defensive, win at all costs style. Now he finally is trying to play attacking football for the first time in his career, mainly due to the pressure Guardiola's Man C side have brought to the city of Manchester he is getting found out. Man U had the best defence in the league under Mourinho, and he has spent £31M on Lindelof and Bailly for £30M. He has signed Pogba (£89M), Matic (£40M) and Fred (£52M). That's his CM and CBs right there in his favoured 4-2-3-1. Only now he says they are not good enough (all appear to have become worse players under him). Let's not get started about his mis-use of Mata, Martial and Rashford (I was very happy that none of those three played last night), or his failure to play to either realise Lukaku's weaknesses or play to his strengths (and then wonder why he has such a poor goal return). And let's not forget how much he spent on Sanchez - a player who would have been available on a free 5 months later. Would you trust Mourinho with another £100M? I wouldn't and it appears Woodward wouldn't either.

I thought Gary Neville lost a lot of credibility in his blind and stubborn defence of Mourinho last night. This was Mourinho's team getting spanked at home 3-0 by a rival. The week after shipping three goals at Brighton.

Mourinho can turn the results around. He can go back to playing turgid, defensive, win at all costs football and finish in the CL spots. But he will be a long, long way behind Man City, in terms of class, style and points. For a team that prides itself in being the biggest in the world it must be hard to get outclassed so badly by a team from just down the road.

Not sure it's defence of Mourinho per se, but Neville's staunch defence of managers in general. His point is that managers should be given longer, if you give them a three-year-deal, then let them see it out. Don't at the drop of a hat, or three poor results sack them and start again. And to be fair I'm with him. The chopping and changing of managers is ridiculous. We were a joke for a long time because of it. Chelsea and Leicester sacked title winning managers, etc. No loss of credibility for Neville there. He just believes that managers need time to work, and the current climate of quick hire, quick fire is bad.

Happy flying under the radar again while everyone focuses on United and the Jose meltdown.

Surprised we didn't make more of Dele v Herrera. What the fuck was Mourinho thinking with that line up?

To be fair to Mourinho he's got a point. He sets out a team to win (the way he knows how) by playing the defensive turgid stuff and plays the percentage game. Fans and mainly media say "It's not the result that counts it's the style". Ok so now he's trying to play a more attacking style which he doesn't know how to at a club like United and yes they got beat 3-0 but they did play more attacking than expected. But seems the result is more important than style.

If you hire a defensive manager you should expect defensive football and not criticise him for doing so.

Yes, he's an arse but that's something else.

The Lukaku chance comes from a completely unforced error from Rose. The game was scrappy in the first half which they shaded, admittedly, but all this they were amazing in the first half is a load of old bollix.

Tend to agree with that analysis, not sure looking back how Jose felt they could be 3 nil up at HT. Lukaku chance aside there were no other great chances, a good save from Lloris from Pogba and a deflection from Verts went close but that's it. We held firm under pressure from the crowd and their energy, albeit a bit nervously on the ball, but still should have had a pen ourselves (and wasted a good opportunity from Dele and Moura's pressing).

I saw a stat that possession was lost more in the first half than all but one other game this season, and it was something like Utd 58-65 Spurs. They worked hard but lacked quality, were much better than they usually are under Jose, yet we beat them 3-0 and by the end of the game had the better chances from less shots and possession. Big big win.
