Not that I'm entertaining this actually happening, but where would he play?

Eriksen, Gotze, and Lamela behind Kane? Where would that leave Alli?
Play Alli more in Dembele's spot. As Dembele likely won't be able to play twice a week and may even see time on the infirmary table anyway and also play Alli - Gotze - Eriksen as a combo sometimes.

The Allegri bit isn't quite right, as he used a 4-3-1-2 at Cagliari very often with Andrea Cossu behind two strikers, and later at Milan he usually varied between 4-3-3 or anyone he had available that he could plug into that AM role, again in a 4-3-1-2 (he typically played Boateng there, and Kaka in the last season of his tenure).

Nevertheless, the signings of Alves, Pjanic and Benatia seems to reinforce the notion that he will stick to the 5-3-2 that's yielded most success thus far, and 2 quality CMs (especially if Pogba goes) and a striker should be the top priorities IMO (I'm a juve fan aswell btw)

I'll give you Andrea Cossu, but while Allegri's favored formation is a wingless 4-3-1-2 in Milan it seemed a very intentional decision to play Boateng in the hole. Boateng essentially played has a false number 10, functioning more as a traditional n.8. He also played Boateng ahead of Robinho and Cassano, players more normally associated with an attacking midfield role and both arguably more talented players than Boateng. Only when Ibra was sold did Allegri begin experimenting with different systems and I suspect hat had a lot to do with Berlusconi tightening his purse strings before an election, as well as his insistence on signing players like Kaka.

In any case, I think its pretty clear that Gotze is not a priority for Juve and any links seem to ore from the idea that Juve are a big enough club that should be after him more than the actual needs and strategy employed by Juventus.

Another Bild article, seems to suggest he claimed he wanted to stay at Bayern first purely so he could concentrate on the Euros, but was keen to move. It also suggests we have been in regular contact for the last few months or what not. If that is the case it may mean his rejection of the advances of Dortmund and Liverpool were because he had another team in mind...

Most likely though I'm reading to much into it though.

The important badly translated quote

'It is during the Euro 2016 at least two meetings of Papa Jürgen Götze, since have given more than two months the consultant of his son, and representatives of Tottenham. The decision is due soon, Götze revealed in National team circles'.

Another point is it seems that the bilds source is from 'national team circles'

Right. Just spoke to my mate and he says there may be something in this. Says when he asked about it(jokingly) it was received with a deadpan expression, and the conversation was quickly moved on. He tried to bring it up again later and was told... "At the money we'd be willing to go to, there would be an awful lot of teams interested."

Certainly don't get your hopes up because there may well be nothing in it, but when my mate asked the question there was no definitive no. Usually there is when we have no interest at all.
