Its not going to be much anyway is it, I'd rather the money went to Swindon anyway. Personally I think sell on fees or buy backs should be abolished.

To be fair he was sold to Swindon for a lower than market price fee, think it was 400k, the sell on fee was there because we did them that favour.

Swindon owners and TS are connected. That was why a few of Spurs players went on loan there. It is interesting that TS said that the time is not "right" to buy Luongo. Meaning TS indeed wanted to get Luongo? Will TS go for Loungo next summer, if Loungo performs reasonably well for QPR next season? A way to "circumvent" the contract? If TS/Villa buys next summer and if he buys say less than 6 millions pound, Swindon, QPR and Villa will benefit and Spurs will be the "loser", if there was indeed a sell on clause in Loungo contract (stated to be 40-50% to Spurs as a sell on clause. Sell on clause only activated if BPL teams bid for Luongo? This is just a theory. I am not privy to the contract details). Coz if Villa were to buy now for 3millions, Swindon would only get around half of the amount, instead of the full 3 millions they get from QPR.

It is indeed interesting to see the quotes by TS. Again, i am not privy to details. Most probably my theory is wrong anyway. But it is interesting to follow the progress of Luongo from now on. At least for me.

You're assuming Mr Sherwood will still be in charge next summer :cautious:

On the article linked on the front page there is a telling quote:
“It (the transfer fee for Luongo and Gladwin) is millions, that’s all I would say. It’s an undisclosed fee and I’ve got to respect that. It’s very good. It runs into millions,” Swindon chairman Lee Power told local website Total Swindon Sport.

Asked to discuss the sell-on fee due to Spurs, Power said: “Spurs are entitled to their money. At the end of the day, we didn’t get what we thought we might get for Mass in the end but I think it suited everyone to go there.

To me that sounds like the deal is weighted in favour of Gladwin, to partially circumvent the sell on clause. I guess at least they are not doing it as heavily as we did on Vorm (he was counted as a free transfer).
