Gave it to Big Dav for having Lukaku pretty much wrapped up for the entire 90 minutes, again.

Gollini - 4 - he makes a brilliant save very early in the game but then has a terrible moment for their goal. Made some decent saves throughout the game, but he is displaying nothing to suggest we should keep him next season.

Doherty - 3 - I'm tired of talking about Doherty - not a left wing back, can't use his left foot and hopefully he returns to Wolves this window.

Davies - 5 - typical Davies performance really. Poor marking for some of their corners/crosses but he covered well enough. He isn't progressive enough on the ball and that is why we're looking for another left sided CB in my opinion. To be fair, he has played a lot of games and is due a rest.

Sanchez - 5 - some poor clearances but I think he marshalled Lukaku well over the two legs which is no easy job. Deserves a lot of credit for his performances since the Mura nightmare.

Tanganga - 3 - in the last two games we have conceded from corners - both scorers being his man. He is very rash and unconvincing in his defending and every challenge he makes seems like it will be a foul. I'd like him to go on loan, but honestly cannot say I'd be sad if he is sold.

Royal - 4 - he has an incredible ability of getting into great positions and then doing nothing with the ball. He can't shoot or cross and our attacks die at his feet.

PEH - 5 - I personally don't think he was that bad today and certainly played a part in our second half attacks.

Winks - 5 - hard working but lacked composure on the ball. He had to play Kane in with his through ball opportunity. However, both him and PEH are not why we have lost this game.

Lo Celso - 4 - offered nothing in the game. He is neither a 10 or an 8 and for a creative player, he doesn't bring very much.

Moura - 5 - selfish at times in his play but his turns are dangerous. His long range shots were way off the mark, however he does work extremely hard for the team.

Kane - 6 - our best player on the night in my opinion who worked hard and did well to create chances and space for himself. He could have put a better ball in for Moura, but overall he gave a lot and deserved a goal.

Overall:

I think Conte had accepted the tie was over from the first leg. With the injuries we have, this was near enough the best team we could play and in the second half we did give them some problems. Chelsea are lightyears ahead of us, it says a lot when you look at the subs they had compared to ours. When you couple this with the psychological block we have when we play them, it makes for very tough viewing.

I've criticised PEH a lot this season, but will stick my head out tonight and say he played reasonably well. I think both him and Winks did a fair job against Chelsea's superior midfield - even with a weak defence behind them. If we had Reggy, Son, Dier and Romero on the pitch, then I think we would have taken at least one of our chances. An addition of an attacking right back and creative midfielder would certainly help us out too.

Despite being thoroughly outclassed, gifting three goals and seeing some terrible lapses in concentration, our disjointed team did create some chances against Chelsea. If we can do that to them, we can do that to Arsenal.

Sanchez 7 (based on first half) - looked good against Lukaku and looked really comfortable bringing the ball out
Everyone else meh.

We gifted them the tie two silly goals there and keeping error tonight

On the night we huffed and puffed but there is a big gulf between the sides and it felt s though if they needed to they had another gear to go into. Looking at the side before the game who is going to score apart from Kane and Moura we had very little goal threat in that x1 and the goal killed any chance we might have had. Overall I thought we did better in the second half but Chelsea were probably relaxing a bit.

I thought Kane was probably our best player

Conte I thought made a mistake with the keeper poor decision for me - I don't really understand playing Doherty at left back he has no left foot though he tried hard he has to go back on to his right but maybe Sessegnon can't play 90. Our midfield isn't up to their standard I though Hojberg and Winks tried hard but ultimately both missed relatively simple passes which should have put Kane through typical Lo SoSo doesn't affect anything another non descript performance. We did ok but we needed a big slice of luck and everyone putting in 9 out 10 performances I thought we got sixes and sevens

Its hard to say anyone deserved a MOTM, but was good to see Kane's work ethinc and general effort getting closer to what we know and expect.

The main take away from this game is the absolute glaring fire of urgency required for the team to be strengthened and upgraded to help conte obtain and expedite his priorities for this window asap.

Ironic really that although we were totally out classed by them over both games the only goals they scored were gift wrapped by us.

They really do have the hex on us. We never perform against them and we have no luck when playing them. On top of gifting them 3 goals we had 2 penalties denied and a goal disallowed for offside. All were correct decisions but on another day the margins could have gone for us.

On their goal. It was one from the training field. Rudiger makes a run towards the middle and “Dave” blocks off his marker, Tanganga, leaving him unmarked to head home, Which doesn’t excuse Gollini. When was the last time you’ve seen us score from a corner because of a routine from the training field. It doesn’t matter who the manager is I never see any work done on corners both defending or attacking. We must be one of the worst teams at corners.

Gave Kane MOM as I thought he kept trying all match even though it was a thankless task given the gulf in class. We just don’t have enough big game players. What I’d give to have Kovic in our midfield!!

One thing I have got to say is, we really have to give alot of credit to Chelsea. They played so well, over both legs. They have class in every position now. Every single player is technically good. They pass the ball lovely, keep it nice and use everyone on the pitch. Defend so well and make crucial blocks, press so well and made us literally not be able to do anything. It would be nice to play football like that, when they get the ball it's hard to get it back . Admittedly we let them and stood of them and gave them time and space but they have now got rid of their 'donkey" players, IE Terry, Lampard etc etc players that use to make mistakes. One criticism is they do miss chances and it's a good job Lukaku is an overrated player who misses alot , I have never rated him much . Werner is a very good player but again can't shoot. If he could finish he would be up there with one of the best . So even though they dominated us for both legs they did miss a hell of a lot especially the first leg and we was still in it somehow 2nd leg...

I think it worked for them switching formation in the first half of the first leg. Was it on purpose or because they had to due to injuries and a bit of luck and it worked? They caught us off guard that first half of the first leg. Every game lately we have played them it has kind of gone the same way, they dominate, then we come into it a bit too late or they make a tactical switch. I think they were happy to let us have it near the end , they could always up it if they wanted and knew they had won. I think it was a very very easy tie for them.

So on to the game yesterday. I think Conte had given up before the game. How can he put out a squad like that ? Even with our Injuries. He must know Dothery is a championship ,if lucky player(I think you could get a better player in a lower league than him or youngster) to play LWB. He has to be one of the worst players I have seen at this level and that goes for when he's playing on the right side too.

One thing I wanted to mention and I noticed it yesterday was how our main players, especially Lucas don't trust certain players. A few times yesterday he could of passed or played the ball through, to Dothery but he knew Dothery couldn't do anything with it, he knew he would try cut in and give it away. I don't blame him for that though to be honest. He also done it to Gil though, when he came on, I understand doing it with Dothery but atleast Gil has a bit more to him. I felt Lucas and Kane were trying to do everything, trying too hard at times. I don't blame them and understand it as we don't offer much, but it's one thing I noticed.

Starting Goillini was crazy , he is no where near good enough and needs to go.

Sanchez was good again I thought. Shame he's not got better players around him. Keep

Tanganga, what's that 4 goals he has caused now or messed up with ? He's gotta go terrible, terrible terrible player

Davies thought he was decent again keep.

Royal - awful, needs to go. Aurier was better , said it all along. Needs to go. Don't see the fuss about him at all.

Dothery - Fraud. How is he a prem footballer? Sell asap.

Winks - started strong, lively , showing he cares and has come on alot lately . Died out and should of played Kane through but fucked it. Keep.

Holjberg - frustrating player lately. Didn't think he was great yesterday but not the worst . Keep but switch sometimes for certain games.

Lo celso - tried , but he is not up to this level. He needs time and space and even then he's not that good. Get rid he's a flop.

Lucas - greedy, didn't trust certain players , tried to hard , made some decent runs and looked our only threat really , tried hard , done ok. I still prefer him of bench at times. Keep

Kane - similar to Lucas really , tried hard , put him self about , tried too hard at times , didn't trust certain players , unlucky not to score. Done well enough. Keep

Only positive I can say is 2nd half atleast we gave it a go, was it down to Chelsea dropping a bit, letting us have it ? Who knows. We could of scored three goals . Atleast they gave some fight and Gil come on and made a bit of a nuisance of himself. I think Chelsea could of stepped it again if they needed to.

Shame we still don't have Lamela. Atleast he cared and gave it his everything and also was a very good player who can create and make things happen. I understand getting rid of him if we were getting better or getting rid of some other players but we didn't. He was one of our better players. If not best player.

I thought it was the right thing to do playing three in midfield and I can see why he played 532 after the first leg. I thought he could of still been a bit more adventurous with changing it up, especially as we needed a goal, may aswell go for it. I wouldn't of minded seeing the youngster Markanday.. Playing Tanganga and starting Dothery on the Left was to me saying he was trying to make a point? He had gave up already. How he could start Tanganga again after he has cost us every goal lately is crazy. May aswell give Rodon a chance than him and I don't rate him loads either . Chelsea's 4222 worked so well even if it was just for Injuries.

We are doing well in the league , Conte has done a great job so far.. It's not a bad thing we out of this , Chelsea the much better team.

As long as we can keep doing well In the league I think it will be fine . I think if we can get us top 6 that will be a great achievement.

Let's keep going ....
