Great to see the attacking skills we have in full flow ,excellent result , lots of effort but again as after City, I'm not reading too much about our future into the match . Leeds and City managed by philosopher managers who want to play their game rather than taking care to fuck up ours . They are a rare pair .

Looking at our defence its hard to see the stability Conte is looking for . (what was our panicking keeper thinking ?) I didn't feel the compactness that Conte mentioned in his presser . Anyway well done Spurs .

Also I was wondering if Leeds have reached the same tired point we did with Poch ,the commentator saying their running stats have fallen away this season .That would fuck their system as it did Poch's

Lloris - 6 - Would have got a 7 (with not a lot to do) but for a calamitous error second half. He then compounded the error by trying to handle it. I'd rather they scored than we went down to 10 men (which would have happened had he handled it). 10 men with a back up keeper and 25 mins to go and Leeds have a chance. Very naive play.
Doherty - 8 - Very good, defended well, and very good going forward, icluding a well taken goal, and unlucky not to get a 2nd. Has to be first choice RWB over Royal.
Romero - 8 - Lost his man a couple of times on set pieces but very good on the ball and very solid.
Dier - 8 - Organises us. Calm and good distribution throughout.
Davies - 8 - One major mistake at the end stopped him getting a 9. A great tackle to save a goal and strong distribution.
Sessegnon - 8 - Like Doherty looked very good at both ends. Good crosses, got an assist and unlucky not to get at least one goal. Best LWB performance of the season.
Højbjerg - 8 - Won so much ball. Also a fantastoc pass for Kane's goal.
Winks - 8 - Best performance from him for a long time. Tidy on the ball and wordked hard throughout. Always available.
Kulusevski - 8.5 - Very good first 10 mins (was on for a 10) but dropped off a little after that. Great goal and very intelligent play throughout. Easily first choice as RWF.
Son - 8.5 - Grew into the game and scored a fantastic goal. Couple of really good runs as well. Works so hard.
Kane - 9 - MOM - World class finish. World class assist. And so much more in between.

Royal - 7 - Should have shot.
Bergwijn - 8 - Looked livley.
Scarlett - n/a - Not enough time to touch the ball much.

Conte - 9 - Great tactics. Timely subs.
Thanks for articulating my thoughts. Spot on evaluation

OK, going to be controversial, possibly.

I've been going to spurs since '82 and an ST holder since' 88, my favourite ever player is Hoddle by a country mile, greatest passer of the ball, no doubt.... until now.

I honestly believe, that Kane is so very close to Hoddle now. His vision and passing, especially with the speed of the modern game, is quite frankly extraordinary.

Passing wise, Hoddle vs Kane is becoming a very, very close fought battle.
That ball for Sonny’s goal was ‘perfect’.

Kane stand out again just like against City, can we just play City & Leeds all season they give you plenty of space to play unlike the likes of Burnley.
Maybe part of it is just getting out the gates quickly and scoring the early goal. Then we get the space for more.

Against Burnley we didn't take any chances and were somewhat pedestrian and paid the price. If we got a goal in the first 10-15 min I'm sure it would have been a similar result.

The attacking talent will get most of the credit but I thought PEH was absolutely outstanding today. Not only his pass for Kanes goal, he was all over the pitch and broke up play well.
Also glad to see the back 3 get another match alongside each other and a clean sheet!

Agreed.

My love for Hoddle knows no bounds. I never thought I'd ever see a better passer. Ever. Maybe Zidane. But no-one else. Hoddle was an artist. The things he did with the ball were out of this world. Kane though, he really is doing the same things.

That's true but against Burnley we hardly tested Pope in the first half, big chance first half was when Sonny should have slipped the ball to Kane on his right why he didn't goodness knows.

Hey guys, for us peasants who live in the southern hemisphere and can't watch the games as easily, can we get some elite ratings and verbose descriptions as to why you're rating each player such a number. These threads keep me (us) linked to the club ? so please, go hard and rate away

Kane is ridiculously good, he’s playing the very best of his already extraordinary career. Someone said earlier that he’s passing is up there with Hoddle’s. It nearly is and that’s the greatest compliment I could ever give. Hoddle is my all time favourite player, watched his whole career pretty much . Kane is up there and he’s a centre forward ffs. Not sure why he’s never done it in a final but he needs to win trophies , I hope he stays for just one more season after this and surely he’ll get at least one with us. Oh and anyone not giving him motm today was obviously taking the piss. He was even better than last weekend when he was a Ten.

If he's after definite trophies, which he should be at his age, he would be stupid to stay after this season.

My hope is we win the FA cup, finish 4th and he can move on happily elsewhere immortalised at spurs and we reinvest intelligently

Leeds were defensively poor and we took them apart. However they gave us plenty of problems at the back and could have had a few goals themselves.

Lloris tidy apart from that foray out of his box and extremely fortunate to get away with that.

Doherty and Sess were both good both on offence and defence. Nice to see them combine for a well worked goal.

Romero solid and composed on the ball and loved his forward runs. Dier tidy apart from a few poor passes forward. Davies fantastic effort to get back for the block on the Lloris brain fart. As a back three they just don’t have that dominant figure aerially and we’re fortunate Leeds didn’t make them pay early on.

Winks and PEH got through their work well and contributed getting the ball forward.

Front three were impressive, Kane the MOTM but Kulu ran him hard for that honour. Son a much improved performance after a bit of a shocker against Burnley.

Good performance but if being picky think we could still be tighter at the back.

Lloris 5. Would have been 7 but for his moment of utter madness.
Doherty 7. Good game and linked well with Kulusevski. Real threat going forward.
Romero 8. Excellent again.
Dier 7.5. Makes the back 3 much more solid.
Davies 7. Saved Lloris blushes with a fantastic run an block.
Sessegnon 7. Good game. Shame he didn't score.
Hojbjerg 7. Fought hard.
Winks 7 As above.
Kulusevski 7. Worked hard. Took his goal really well. Strikes the ball sweet as a nut.
Kane 9.5. Different gravy.
Son 8. Worked really hard and scored a beaut.

Why don't you just download the matches as I do? It's even quite easy to avoid knowing the score until you have the chance to watch the match.

Download? Do you take me for some kind of bacteria?

I have the Optus app and can watch the game, but I am a man of the people and am called to the live scores and reactions.

Pleased to see that Scarlett got on the pitch. I hope him and White get some time to get used to the tactics this season to be able to fill in more next year.
