Winks or Sanchez I guess. Kane, Davies, and Emerson were okay. Everyone else was either poor, really poor, or had a really poor moment.

Things learned today:
-Dele needs a move
-Hojbjerg cannot be our playmaker
-Winks is playing with much more confidence
-Lucas needs to play whenever possible
-343 (or 3421 I guess) is our best formation

From what I watched Winks and Kane were our best players, with Davies and Dier looking comfortable. Rest (bar Gil when he came on) treated the ball like a hot potato, which isn't really good enough when you are trying to shift 10 men across the park. Technical level of the likes of Hojbjerg, Emerson, Doherty, Dele, and Sanchez simply not good enough.

Winks got a pen assist with a cracking ball. Should have had an assist but for VAR and also played 3 or 4 more dangerous balls in to Son. MotM

I completely disagree with the people who say we were shit. We weren't, it was just one of those days where the stars aligned for the opposition. Southampton have held City and Utd to a point too don't forget.

Think that’s a little harsh on Sanchez. That has to be the end for Dele. His game is shot

532 prior to the red card. How about you?
looked a clear 3421 to me with dele as the right-sided #10(usually lucas' position).

it's why i think dele struggled so badly and i don't see why conte moved him and us away from the 352 against liverpool when he finally put in a decent performance there. it's also why we were so outnumbered in the middle of the pitch.

It was just one of those games, which isn't unexpected during this busy time.
Players are tired, both physically and mentally.
Southampton defended very well and it's not like we didn't create chances, just not enough good ones.

How Kane's goal was ruled offside is beyond me, he looked clearly onside in real time and I didn't see anything in the freeze frames to change my mind.

Would have liked the win but all things considered, I'm not too disappointed with the draw.
I certainly don't think the performance was as bad as some think.

Completely agree. Reminded me of Poch days when we were in our pomp - we would still drop points in games like this. Most teams do - we aren't anywhere near City/Liverpool levels yet.

Winks alone did enough to get the win - problem was he was on his own. The drop off in PEH's form is alarming. But the rise in Winks offensive passing is as timely as it is surprising.

We're still good in transition. We're still dreadful when the onus is on us to create chances from extended possession. Both of which we've known for over 2 years now.

Thought Hojbjerg, Emerson, Reguilon, Doherty, Lucas, Son were all really poor. Bad decisions, lack of composure and bravery on the ball, wasteful in possession.

Kane looked okay and should have had 2. The back three were fine again but realistically Sanchez should not be getting tasked with being a primary playmaker with 10 mins to go. Gil was bright but should never have been RWB - still got no idea what the thinking was there.
