Cudicini 7 : Didn't have much to do but did what he had to do well. Couldn't do much about the goal

Corlurka 7.5 : Another good performance. He's going to be a star (fingercrossed)
Dawson 7 : Some great headers when defendig and a good goal, although the mistake marked him down.
Woodgate 7 : Same as Dawson. Defending the long ball well
BAE 7 : Good defence and better going foward

Bentley 6.5 : good first half...not so good in the second
Zokora 7 : Filled in for full backs and let Modric do his thang
Modric 10 : Excellent. Best performance by anybody in a Spurs shirt all year. Everything went through him
Lennon 7 : Same as Bentley but got the crucial early goal

Defoe 7.5 : Goal, assist and worked hard. Can't ask for more really
Pav 7.5 : Second best player for us tonight I thought. Link-up play was great. Pity he didn't score.

Cudicini 7 - Looked solid, held the ball well, no chance for the goal

Corluka 7 - Defensively good, did well going forward too

Woodgate 7 - Solid game

Dawson 7.5 - Strong leaders performance. Horrible mistake for the goal, but at least we were 3-0 up. Otherwise was excellent

BAE 7 - Good game, feisty as always

Lennon 7.5 - Excellent on the left a real threat, well taken goal

Bentley 7 - Much better on the right, not sure why he and Lennon swapped

Modric 9 - Brilliant, positionally excellent and magic on the ball. Italian commentators were comparing him to Kaka, Ronaldinho, Boban and Pele :grin:

Zokora 7 - Decent game, did his job, lost shape a little in the second half

Defoe 8 - Has he improved since he went away? Offered himself deeper and actually held up the ball quite well. Good finish.

Pavlyuchenko 8 - Was excellent, good movement, looks much better with a partner and able to move into spaces. Great assist.

Good game all together, we slowed down after their goal, but really could have had a lot more.

Great first half. Just a pity we couldn't put them to the sword in the second half. All seven's (bar the 'mouse' as noted by 3Dnata). Could have been 8's all round if we'd pushed on a little harder in the second half. Saving ourselves for the weekend, I hope. Bentley is improving; surely he'll soon get a free kick on target.

Defoe held up the ball very well today!!! His best all round game ive seen for a while. Passed, held it up, got an assist and a goal (nearly more)

I think that every game!

I'm waiting for the day that Lennon heads in his own cross. Wy does Bentley take free kicks, he has a more overatted rep on free kicks than Roberto Carlos. anyone have stats on how many he has taken and how many on target, obviously no goals so far but so many really bad ones.

Dawson was immense today. He saved us at least 2 goals compared to only 1 mistake. We did not deserve to play to nil today, marking at set pieces needs sorting urgently.

Great performance, If Shawcross hadn't turned into Dawson in the second half we'd have scored a lot more. Very impressed with that lad.

Cudicini - 7 - Looked comfortable at claiming the ball, distribution excellent. Good competition for the No.1 Jersey.

Corluka - 7 - Good support play from Charlie today. Comfortable on the ball as always, won everything and hardly ever lost possession. Good attacking threat.

BAE - 7 - Excellent today. Looked really lively going forward and was sound defensively.

Dawson - 7.5 - Yes it was his pass that led to their goal, but they still had a lot to do to score. Commanding at the back - wins everything with commitment.

Woody - 7.5 - What can I say - he is Mr Dependable. People don't really go on about him that much, but he is such a snip for 8.5m. So good at intercepting the ball and passing it off.

Lennon - 7.5 - Excellent today - although was given an easy time by the full backs really. His direct play caused so many problems for Stoke. Good goal as well!

Bentley - 7.5 - I think this was his best game this season. Did everything that was expected - he worked hard, he took on his man, he hardly lost possession and he just looked so comfortable on the right. Very aware of his team mates tonight.

Zoko - 7.5 - Excellent display from somone who's place is under threat from Palacios. Covered the fullbacks who attacked Stoke, harried Stokes midfield and intercepted really well. Passed it nice and simple too - exactly what we want.

Modric - 9 - Exceptional display from Luka. Showed that he can work in a 4-4-2 tonight with his workrate. Stoke could only foul him to stop him tonight. The ball sticks to him, and he was the reason that our team worked tonight. I think everyone looked at his workrate and wanted to match it. Absolutely brilliant.

Pav - 8 - I thought he was the pick of the strikers tonight. He is becoming a bit like, dare I say it Berbatov in the way he can drop into space, pick the ball up and make things happen. Holds the ball up really well and brings the midfield into the game. I hope Harry keeps him because he is going to be class.

Defoe - 7.5 - Took his goal brilliantly, hassled the defence/goalie all night and linked well with Pav. His awareness is improving, and he is more than a goal scorer - he can bring others into the game. Great vision to pass to Lennon for the first. Personally I don't want Keane back, because this guy is the absolute nuts.

Overall Thoughts

1. Confident display from Tottenham tonight. Retention of the ball was excellent.
2. We attacked with pace tonight. People actually going forward to support the attack as well. Both full backs should be commended for their roles in this.
3. Lennon and Bentley worked really well on both flanks.
4. Modric is a little genius.
5. The whole team put in 100% effort and were rewarded. Every player looked to close Stoke down as quickly as they could.
6. Palacios, King, Chimbonda, Jenas are all coming back soon.

I know it was Stoke. I know that they are not a great team, but they are physical, and work hard. But we were so much better! I am really happy with this display and hope that Harry is too. Keep it up lads!

They beat us at Stoke.

Woodgate 7.25 - Solid and was good.
Dawson 7 - should have very good game apart from that poor mistake
Ekotto 7.5 - Solid and good game.
Zokora 7.5 - fought very hard.
Modric 9.25 - one word: Class.
Bentley 6.5 - decent
Lennon 7.5 - good and important goal, looked very well on left.
Defoe 7.25 - decent game with good goal.
Pavlyuchenko 7.25 - very good 1st half but looked tired in 2nd half

Redknapp 5 - 5 for first half and zero for second half, Stoke made early three subs in 2nd half and our first two subs in added time, so it was 14 players against 11, they almost scored 2-3 which mean it is very difficult to deal with after 3-0.
