I've just seen the schelude for PL matches after Christmas and it's absolutely ridiculous.

Chelsea get the most days off and have a 3 day break before playing us compared to our two days. They seem to catch every break don't they.

Can't get my head around who thought it was a good idea to give Chelsea, who have no European football 2 days more than us, Man City and Man Utd and a full 3 days more than their current title rivals Liverpool.

Absolutely pathetic.

Couldn't agree more.

I called up a famous sports journalist and said 'Look at our three fixtures and then look at Chelsea's three fixtures. What do you have to say when you read that?'

Meh. We have the same amount of off days as most teams. We have 4 games in 2.5 weeks this year. Better than 4 in 2 weeks like last year or 4 in 1.5 like it was before.

In theory the 10 day break currently will set the players up for those 3 games. If we had one day between games like a lot of others do I'd be concerned.

Worse for the teams with a one-day gap. Particularly bad for South Coast Big Club. On balance, good for us.

Could be worse. We have a decent squad, and we get a decent break between the second and third games. Should see some hamstrings pop for many of the teams that are playing 31st and 2nd.

They should. Like the last day of the season, Boxing Day and New Years Day should be for all teams. I'm sure it used to be..? then it was split almost in half, and now this.

I'm also disappointed we're not playing Boxing Day! Chelsea's spacing is strange compared to everyone else. Although there is TV to accommodate, surely they could find a way where everyone has the same number of rest days? It would probably be 5 in the end.
