How has Rodon not had more opportunities, his defensive instincts have got us out of a hole a fair few times.

Thought Ndombele was dictating the game superbly, couple of sublime balls. Some good turns. I think in this role he wont be exhausted from pressing.

Thought Kane was having a stinker and then produced a brilliant moment of quality.

Amazing that playing a world class striker as a striker results in goals

Its because he has two runners getting beyond him and an attcking mid looking to get closer to him. It means he doesnt have to drop as deep for the ball and he can stay central.

Previously he only had Son running off him and Ndombele was getting pushed back which meant he had tp go looking for the ball more.

Good half I think, we look better balanced set out like this and there's been a better flow about us when we have managed to pass it around a bit.

Also think we've passed through the lines much better, not so much side to side and then just a long ball from the back like we see so often.

The result is all that matters. The energy levels are great and there are some positives so far that show Mourinho that Ndombele can play further back effectively, and that Winks/Sissoko aren't needed. Aurier and Reguilon also are establishing themselves as clear cut, can't drop first choice players, which is great.

The one problem that has held us back all season and that could ultimately cost us a title push: no major attacking contribution yet from the right forward position. Bergwijn started great, but for the last 40 minutes, was largely anonymous. If he or another player could just give us 5 or so goals from the position in the remaining games, we'd have a much better chance at a top 3 finish.

He gave the ball away once as far as I remember, which was a bad give away granted. Other than he's found his man. He always has his head up and looks convincing to me when passing.
