1) Selling parties know those teams have money and therefore ask for more in negotiations.
2) Look at Liverpool with Moreno. Regardless of how much money they have, they set a limit to how much they were going to spend on him. Just like we do. Therefore negotiations drag on. The amount of money available to them is completely irrelevant in this discussion.
3) The 3 parties thing isn't so big a deal as we don't need to negotiate separate fees for all parties. We negotiate one fee with Villareal and the other two parties get a chunk of said fee. This isn't like some other deals where you have to buy out each owned percentage individually. It does present problems though as we have to create enough incentive for Villareal to sell. Thankfully we can also have Musacchio, his agent, and River provide a little added pressure in the incentives process to get the deal done.

This is all beyond the fact that you clearly don't get the joke and if you were correct in your weird fear mongering we would never sign anyone.

Except that's clearly wrong. We sign players every year and the process can be just as gruelling for us as it is for everyone else. Welcome to football transfers. Hope you enjoy the ride.

We sign straight forward players every year. We fail, every year, to sign complex ones.
We are negotiating only with Villereal. However, they want to walk away from this deal with X amount of money after Y and Z are paid. If they don't feel like they end up with enough money at the end if it they can rightfully say no.

Using commonsense here but that must be wrong about Bale being done for a month but still named in the squad. No way can that be correct.
It was IMO. We had accepted their fee and personal terms would never be a problem- we just delayed it to get players in.

Yesterday morning Moreno was in the Seville squad to play RM. By the evening Liverpool were saying that they had agreed a fee for him. MM being named in the Villareal EL squad has no influence at all on whether a deal for him goes through or not.

Were obviously playing chess with them. We'll come to a compromise or walk away. No point paying over the odds for MM but I'd like us to sign him. I'd rather stick than sign someone who isn't of this quality.

We have a lot of 6/10 players, a couple of 7/10s and 3 current 8-9/10s in Lloris, Vertonghen, Eriksen ( Lamela might join them). Hopefully we can start to slowly replace some 6s (5 or 6 players) with 8s (1 or 2 players) this window or over the next 2 seasons and we'll have a very competitive squad!

It took me a while to find a post of yours that is actually about football rather than drinking beer and singing shit songs. Rather than spam this, why don't you take this point over to the thread about being ready for the start of the season? You seem not so sure so how about you try and put an intelligent point of view across. I'll help you with the big words if you like.
Big words like 'formerly'?

Anyway it's still gamble time for both Villareal and River Plate. Will he ever be worth more than now or will his value go down? Logic says he would be worth more in the future, but not as his contract changes and diminishes. I suspect River Plate (and also his agent) would be happy to take their share of the money now, whilst Villareal will find their share quite small when it comes to strengthening their squad.
Last season Benteke was worth how much?

Personally I wouldn't have paid 2p for him, but whatever you say is whatever he's worth to you PSW. I've seen this debate done to death (in here) and other places. I'm not going to add to it or otherwise because it has no concerns to me. I'm not a football economist nor do I have any knowledge of contracts, lengths of and values of players. I was just referring to a logical reasoning but lets face it - it doesn't matter two hoots anyway what I think. :cat:

Ok, let me explain WHY your sarcasm has backfired so badly you've effectively shot yourself in the arse.....

Liverpool have £75m burning a hole in their pockets + Champions league money + attraction for players + more cash than spurs in general.
Manchester City, league champions - have FIVE HUNDRED BILLION in assets.
And THOSE TWO take a while to sign their attainable targets.

If THEY struggle to sign ATTAINABLE targets, how the fucking hell do we sign a player owned by not 1, not 2, but 3 parties when we're haggling over the price?

Wow, your negativity is astounding. How do you get up in the morning with that attitude?

I found the Moreno for 12mil thing quite confusing. The rumour all summer was that Liverpool was offering 17 mil, Sevilla wanted 20 and both sides had dug their heels in. Now that the deal is done people are saying it's 12? I'd likely believe the papers have got it wrong and it's more than that, but if true I'd agree we'd have possibly been better off paying the extra 2 for Moreno. That being said I do like Davies quite a bit and it helped us fix our backup GK situation as well.

Marca says the deal for Moreno is €18m + 2m add ons, which sounds more likely

Another clever herbert having a pop I see.

Once again, posts bashing, abusing, taking the piss out of ITK will not be tolerated. At all.

And those who indulge themselves in all that even less so.

The club have said to their matey journos that its £12m rising to £16m with add ons. £16m was always the final sum for LFC they wouldn't go over. In the end it was agreed by paying a wee bit more upfront and Moreno pushing hard for the move and saying he would only go to a CL club narrowing the field significantly.

LFC did exactly what Spurs are doing with Moustache man. Patience and finally getting their man for an acceptable price. Key will be how badly Moustache wants the move and how hard he'll push for it.

What's a straight forward deal and what's a complex one? Are you talking purely about third party ownership because we have bought players with that before and we will again.

Or how about the Ben Davies deal? Where we ended up getting our LB and backup goalkeeper in one fell swoop, but apparently paid $0 for the goalkeeper so Swansea would not pay a sell on clause to Utrecht. Ended up being a "complex" enough deal for Utrecht to file grievances with FIFA.
