Neymar and mbappe have only one year left on their contracts

best case he gets a year out of them, wins something then they go - or he sells and reinvests

it’s a win win

their contract situations mitigate how long he’ll have to deal with them...while also giving him a chance to manage “egos “ and prove to Madrid he can handle galacticos while being successful in a relatively easy league

I think he’ll be fine but who knows? Regardless i wish him well

My gut feeling says that it won’t be up to him whether they are given new contracts, sold etc.

Probably - but I don’t think In his first year at spurs he had the control that he had later...it had to be earned

my point is that he won’t have an adebayor style standoff to deal with due to how little remains on each players contract - if either player renews it’ll be - in part - a good signal for poch and his methods

if they don’t? He doesn’t have to deal with a disruptive force in the dressing room

I'm glad that he ended up at PSG as it would've bothered me if he had signed for a club like United. Also good for him that he will most likely win some silverware now.

Perfect club for him really. Ex-captain in a successful playing spell there, in a league where he should be able to break the whole trophy duck thing, and he'll get the backing he was talking about in his last couple of seasons here.

I’ve heard they’ve given special dispensation for Tim Sherwood to ref the game, with Ferdinand and Ramsey as linos. Harry Redknapp on VAR, and Martin Jol as fourth official. The cups going to be presented by Levy.

Good to see Poch has managed to return to looking like 2000's Russell Crowe, instead of the 2020's Russell Crowe he was turning into on his last TV appearance :cautious:

Wish him all the very best and hope he gets a few trophies under his belt, but I think he's on a hiding to nothing. I don't see PSG being a 5 year project club. They sacked Tuchel because he isn't winning the league at a canter.

Asked to compare PSG with the Premier League club, Pochettino replied. “It is difficult for us to be objective about Tottenham because it is still very much in our hearts and we left with unbelievable memories. But now is the moment to be 100% focused on PSG.”

I doubt poch sees psg as a 5 year project

Spurs was a project generally being a mid table prem club with a small stadium and little finances in comparison to the sky4, it was A big long term project to get it competing at a higher level

PSG are not, they already have everything on place.

Jacques Santini was supposed to do the half time oranges, but he didn't last long enough

It will be interesting for sure, My biggest gripe with Poch was always his cup competition performances bar that CL season, he was POOR

For Example

Basically Poch other than his final full season with wins against Man City, Arsenal and West Ham, we would always lose against top half PL opposition minus the one time we beat Leicester in 2016

Poch's record in cup competitions against PL teams(including games in replays and 2nd legs) - W6 D3 L9
Poch's Record in progressing vs PL teams - W8 L11

At Monaco he will be judged by the trophies he wins and that doesn't include Ligue 1. If he doesn't win a trophy this season questions will be asked

I really hope he does well but, I fear player power could scupper success for him Neymar is an enfant but clearly holds a lot of clout with the team and fans.

As long as Neymar gets his free role, he won't complain or rock the boat. He really isn't the trouble maker everyone makes him out to be.

He's gonna win a trophy, that league is piss easy, he's got 2 chances to win the CL so he will be judged on that.

If he can't handle the top players and their egos then he's in the wrong job or has set his ambitions too highly. Same with any manager in the game.
