This appointment seems to be dragging somewhat.
Wouldn't be surprised if it doesnt happen.

Probably because Poch doesn't have an agent so no-one is in the middle actively encouraging this to get done.

Plus the fact he'll be starting in June so doesn't really need to be done asap

Needs to be done from Chelseas pov or risk him going elsewhere.

Levy is debating whether or not “almost Chelsea manager” is close enough to “ex Chelsea manager” thats what’s causing the delay

My two pennies worth - he’s a good manager who was unbelievable for us. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t win the league with Chelsea within a few years. It’s all set up for him there to do so. He’ll trim that squad down, get them fit and they‘ll be playing excellent football.

Winning the league is a tall order for any team outside of Man City these days, but I agree he'll have them up there competing. If they give him a decent amount of control, he'll trim that squad down, fill in the gaps (striker or two), and galvanise a team with potentially top performers like Enzo Fernandes and Reece James. WIth Kante and Silva providing some seniority to get things rolling in the right direction.

The last sentence sounds almost like when Conte came to us. Probably not the part where it was set up for him here, but the rest also kinda fits. In an ideal world that will be the outcome, but wouldn't count on the chelscum group being so entitled. Maybe Poch has learnt to handle the pressure better, but from last time he was with us, pressure will be something that will switch on his sulky mood and thing wouldn't be good.

Anyway, the incredible thing I realised is how soft and easily crumpled in mentality the current crop of players in chelscum is, ever since Roman left. It just kinda underlines the importance a chairmen can set to the club and squad if they are going to be so hands-on like Boehly and Levy, both of which are failing.

And how much petro-state wealth they can get their hands on, of course.

trying to find the values and spirit of the club under pochettino and not employing him is just mind boggling

Rumour has it Kane encouraged the club to get rid of Poch and he also apparently supported both Mourinho and Conte so why should we take any notice of his opinion on this ?

He won't last the season there

I think people need to remember what a mess their squad is, what a mess their finances are and that Abramovich isn't the owner anymore , they don't know what they're doing.

Their squad on paper is still the second best in the league.

Poch is exactly the type of manager they need.

They have a lot of impressionable young players that need an arm round the shoulder and good coaching - Poch will do that.

On paper it's impressive, in reality it's twice as big as it should be in a market where the rest of the continent is skint and they already have people changing in the corridors without loan players coming back.

Managing that will be a nightmare.

and the rest of the players ? Far too many for anyone to get a squad to Gell and more incoming this summer apparently. Nonsense way to run a club.

Everyone knows they will be having a fire sale this summer.

It won’t be as bad as this season.

But yeah, it will be interesting to see how Poch deals with a bigger squad.

Really sad to see him at Chelsea, but I don't think the time was right to come back here. I'm not convinced he'll be a success at Chelsea, like Potter I think he needs time which he probably won't get. I'm nearly always wrong about these things though so maybe thats wishful thinking.
