Why can’t it be that the 18 month contract was Levy’s idea? We went in for Conte (and if we believe what was mentioned that Conte’s expectations we way higher than what we could afford) After NunoGate, Levy might have said, 18 months and see where we are before going in for the long term. We’ve paid out big money to so many managers in such a short space of time, that Levy could have wanted to play this one safe.

Maybe it's me but how credible are the sources? is it time to be worried? After joining SC a few years back and read read so much that ulimately proved to be garbage that it seems silly to get too worked up about it even thought 25% of it is ultimately true.

There's a saying in the South which is "Ain't no education in the second kick of the mule". until one of the ITK's says its got legs, I'll file it in "improbable"

Been a Spurs fan long enough to know that the smoke comes from a fire somewhere.

Pochettino is leaving PSG so immediately stories begin appearing about him coming back to Spurs and it naturally follows that stories will appear about Conte leaving and obviously some of those stories will claim he is wanted by PSG.
I don't believe that Conte will go anywhere this summer but we will have to do the business.

In Poch's best season (2016/17) we had Rose, Walker, Verts, Toby, Dembele and Wanyama on top form.

Most of those players were world class that season, or at least very good.

Those positions have never been replaced with similar quality.

If he returns, is he going to be able to sign the players he needs to compete?

Can he even identify the players he'll need?

The issue is that he believed that Sanchez, Tanguy, and GLC were of similar quality. He also seemed to believe Sess would come good. Many of them were courted for multiple windows, and so were clearly part of a strategy. That's my issue - not that he didn't have the players with the right quality, but that he thought he knew how to get them. What's that quintet in transfers? must be near £200m.

My concern is that he won't work under a Paratici, which is necessary in the modern game.

True enough. There are all sorts of motives behind rumours and transfer claims. The thing is not to fall for them, or even spend emotional energy on worrying about them. It's like those 'what if...?' talking points that rumour-mongers have this or that motive for starting or just encouraging. So often it's radio presenters who have little if any hard content to fill the hours with, and so use listeners to phone in and worry out loud.

were any of the those players world class or of the highest quality before poch worked with them though? i'd say toby and wanyama looked good at southampton is all, and verts looked classy on the ball

whatever you feel about the man we must remember that he didnt inherit a world class squad, or luck into one some how. he truly coached and built something that pushed players well beyond levels at what they usually performed at .
And i assume he backed himself to do it with ndombele, sessegnon etc

BBC reporting that Poch has said that he and Mbappe will "100%" be at the club next season.

I know he can get sacked which would change everything but it's a bold statement nonetheless

He prefixed it with "as it stands" or something like that, which kind of dilutes the boldness a bit.

What the fuck, Poch.

"I can 100% confirm that I'm currently the coach and Mbappe is currently one of the club's players"

Why would he even say that?

Because he now knows neither of them will be there next season?

I'd be shocked if he's there next season.
The biggest question is who will replace him.
Really not sure who they'll get
