Had a look to see if there is a thread on this already but didnt find one.

Just tried to renew my membership for the coming season and opted for the direct debit option as it was £5 cheaper and there are three of us. As i went to complete the order i saw that the club were still charging a £1.50 booking fee per membership. Now its not the amount in question but the principle. I understand the charge for credit cards but for direct debits!!???

Called membership office and was offered some lame excuse that the £1.50 is for using the ticketmaster system. Not happy with explanation i asked to speak to a supervisor. Some lady says it is indeed for using system. So then i asked her whether on next year's renewal (which would be automatic from my bank account) would spurs be the only company in the UK that charges a booking fee for direct debit payments, she couldn't answer.

I just find it really annoying when the club is blatantly taking the piss out of us. Thought i'd share it and would encourage you all to call the office if renewing by DD and complain about the charge if you feel the same. If i'm alone then hey ho! :)

They have been taking the piss for years but it's not like going to the Co-op if you fall out with Tesco.
We have local supporters who don't bother renewing but cadge tickets of the few who do.

My DD took ages to set up so you might have to wait a while before they take the money.

My friend was pleased to see that membership for his kids was free this year but then rather shocked to see he had been charged £1.50 admin fee for each of them!

I still cant belive I got charged £1 for postage and tehn after taking my payment it said they couldn't post the ticket as it was too close to match day. Its only a quid but its the principle

I'd like to think that my £1.50 helped pay just a little bit toward Luka's bumper new contract... I have to tell myself that to stop getting angry.
