... about tomorrow night's game.

I got an email from the Spurs Press Manager about tomorrow night's game, who asked me to post it on SC. Guess what it's about? That's right, 'unsuitable chanting'.

The message says that our fans will be 'closely watched', and if what they refer to as 'The Adebayor chant' is started, fans will be removed and banned. The email continues "Stewards will be using headcams on the day so starting and stopping won't get fans off the hook".

Whatever we think about the chant (personally I'm against it), there's no doubt the club is taking it seriously, so if you're going along tomorrow night, sing your heart out, but not that chant!

Incidentally, the club is probably mailing people at all Spurs message boards, so don't think SC is being singled out!

Very proactive and I applaud their effort, but to assume that the mongols who chant such can read, is WAY too presumptuous.

It's all a bit Big Brother-ish isn't it? Spurs must have been warned by Uefa about the chant after the first leg.

It was sung at the Stoke match aswell by the way. Cant see the Park Lane adhering to this

maybe they could sing "your dad watches elephants and your mums at the door"? Just a thought.
Can't see that that would be racist or derogatory, just amusing to see the stewards going to make a move and then stepping back like in Ace Ventura with the "Shikaka" scene with the local tribal chief.

Message from me to the club. Concentrate on winning the bloody game by a large margin and you can deduct any uefa fines from the proceeds.

That said, I hope our support is just that, getting behind the team enough will create a hostile atmosphere for Real.

I can never understand why 'idiots', amoungst the Yid population, can embarass themselves (and, more to the point, the whole Spurs Family) so that they can get a 'short' and childish 'kick' from it?
I would personally be in favour of a lifetime BAN for these 'inbreads) but....it is more a problem of British Society...and widespread, so it is less a 'challenge' for THFC than for Britain, as a whole? The nub of the problem is the general attitude in the country (The 1966 spirit) and it will, probably never change....? Awww well, C'est la Vie, n'est pas? COYS!

I sung the "if you were in the front seat, you'd be here no more" version during the Stoke game.

Seems a bit harsh banning people if they chant the original version of it - at this rate they won't have to worry about a new stadium.

I expect that version to ring out loud tomorrow night. There's no way the fans won't have the final say in this

How fucking disappointing, I thought this was going to be like, personal messages for some of us from Spurs people.

Like Dawson personally thanking his moth....Damien for defending him at all times, Modric telling BorisTM (?) that he's had nothing to with the war and was in fact just a blameless child at the time, VDV telling Gibb's that he doesn't want to play sweeper, Huddlestone telling Mr Pink that if he keeps banging on about how great he is Redknapp's going to start expecting him to play both halves at the same tempo. Redknapp offering me Kevin Bond's job as chief picker the day's best priced handicap "good things" in the racing post etc...

There are tens of thousands of people willing to chant for spurs and not be morons who have to abuse the opposition. If people want to be ***** then in the kind of words of the Fulham chairman they can f off to West Ham with the other braindead thugs who think football is about fists not feet.

Why people think that their chants are funny/original/clever is beyond me - they are all just rehashed and nobody knows what is being sung until it is posted on a message board anyway! Sing for Tottenham or not at all should be the policy. That would stop all the people who think it is OK to be racist, biggoted, homophobic or anything else that forms the basis of most of the abuse. I remember a few years ago we would get all up in arms if anyone referenced our jewish roots so we cannot now be a club that supports abusive behaviour of any kind. There is no point to it and it adds nothing to the game.

As for singing about someone being shot and admitting to it....you need your head read matey.

Doubt it, he'd have to edit out all the stuff about the animal sex parties and illegally imported pandas, and that'd just be a chore.

Anyways, "that" chant is so childishly bad, and so irellevant, i don't even understand why it became popular - you might as well chant about someone smells of poo and once fingered a tramp. The fact that it's been labelled as racist simply because of the reference to elephants just shows how utterly desperate people are to be offended.

I wonder why it's considered racist, yet there's no concern about calling his mum a whore?

The club have to be careful as, if they make too big a thing of it, it's as if they're admitting that they have concern enough that their fans are as the media describes them. If even one fan is ejected from the ground for singing that song then it will, once again, be all over the news, yet watch the Cheslea or West Ham fans hissing away, singing about how they'd "rather be a paki than a jew" and generally indulge in as much anti-semetic banter as they are able to cram into the time alotted and the papers chuckle and ignore it.

Load of wank, with "agenda" written all over it.
