With January only a few months away, this was never a real priortity, as we have options.

I'm sure Mourinho wanted a CB, but only a top class one, that was an upgrade on what we have. Skriniar was the best option and we'll see if we can bring him in then.

I wouldn't want us to get Rudiger, Stones or anyone else on loan, that meant it would stop us getting the likes of Skriniar or Demiral at a later date.

Our defence does need to get better, but we will be fine for the next few months and I'm sure we will improve.

If we have a few defenders out injured at some point and we were left short, let's remember that Vinicius started out as a defender, in case of emergencies
