If the club can afford his wages and he is free and as long as its not a ridiculous 5/6 year deal, then its a no brainer.
You know it's not 2017 and he was poor in last months at Juve and has been biggest flop in La Liga this season?

Pjanic is a deep lying playmaker. For that role physicals are not so important. He has great passing ability and good shot. Also he is a good free kick taker which would be helpful because we don't have prolific players who can score from free kick.
Deep lying playmaker? Is that actually a thing in the Prem? Who would you count in that category? At a push, I’d say Henderson, maybe Xhaka? Both rely on their physiques and athleticism. Name me a lightweight, deep lying playmaker in the Prem.

Gundogan? Before Pep has moved him upwards this season. To be clear, I'm against signing of Pjanic because of his age and salary. Also his motivation and desire to play in EPL with high intensity is questionable. I see him returning to Juventus or other Serie A team this summer.

If Pjanic had Gunogans athleticism, he’d be a much better prospect for us. I’m not bothered by his age (one good season would be enough for us) and I don’t care about his wages, cos it’s not my money. I just think the Prem would bully the fuck out of him.
And I think ‘deep lying playmaker’ is the kind of position people use to justify using a player with serious deficiencies. Like number 10, or creative AM.

We moan about ENIC and Levy not being ambitious, and then we have people on SC worried about a players wage. Levy really has got a hold of some of our fans with the spending now.

If we do flog both Winks and Sissoko, this guy would be decent for a couple of seasons.

You could rotate him with PEH and Skipp and a three man midfield with Lo Celso and Ndombele rotating the number 10 position. We’d lack some physical presence, but that’s a nice blend of energy, technique and passing. None of them are prolific goal scorers, relatively speaking though

I wouldn't describe Gundogan as athletic at all tbh, I think him and Pjanic are quite similar.

The difference is that Pep plays him further forward. Whereas, Koeman played Pjanic deeper.

I didn’t that would be contentious. Gundogan is a yard quicker and a lot stronger. More importantly, he’s doing his job in the Prem. I don’t think Pjanic could. As I said in the other thread, I’d be happy to see Arsenal buy him.

We aren't Juve or Barca but we aren't as bad as you think that their deadwood would be good signings.
With the same logic some part of our fanbase wanted Umtiti, Khedira, Semedo, Arthur or Coutinho last year any of them they wouldn't improve us.

You can be mad at the club for not being ambitious in the way it spends money and also worry about that the club is spending money within the means it has defined poorly. These aren't mutually exclusive concerns.
