I hope he, Button and Oscar Jansson will be all good GK for us in the future ..

but the problem we did a lot of Academy/Reserves signings in recent years and no one did it here :-|

Meerly stating the facts.

Don't talk shite. You are not stating facts! You are, in fact, stating your opinion and trying to pass it off as fact.

The fact is that your opinion is, in my humble opinion, way way off the mark. Comolli has been influencial in many signings since his arrival at the club. You, however, are prepared to make a cock out of him for only three of those signings. As, has also been stated, he does not work alone. Ultimately, nobody crosses the door without Levy's say so. And no manager is cut out of the loop when it comes to signing new players.

As for the three players whom you think are shit enough to warrant Commoli's head on a plate.......three young, talented players with bags of potential. Granted, the prices may have been high, but that does not make them stupid purchases. What Bent did at Charlton was fantastic and I am damn sure if we had picked him up for £5m then people would not have been quite so critical. Kaboul is young and certainly has plenty to learn about the EPL but still has bags of potential. Boateng was bought for £4m which is not a lot of cash these days. Also still young and learning but I would expect us to get our money back if he doesn't work out.

At least post your opinions as opinions and not fact!:)

I imagine Button will be going out on loan a bit more, hopefully to some team that gives him first team football.

Jansson might be pushed to the reserves, cant see why Forecast is still there. Maybe one of them will go out on loan as well.

Good to see we are continuing to bring in talent, lets hope he fulfills your potential

Meerly stating the facts.

What are the 'facts' to back up that DC is less involved in first team signings? You'd be providing some brand new information to all on this forum I suspect so I'll be very interested to read it.

Back on topic. I think it's great we continue to bring in new young talent for the academy like this guy. With the (tiny) proportion of players making the grade it increasingly becomes a numbers game where you have to work doubly hard to create a top-class pipeline by scouting right across the globe. DC seems to be doing this very well.

Plus, imagine how much pressure you must be under as a current academy player. You might have thought that you're up against your peer group, the reserves and, aspirationally, against the first team squad. But in fact you're effectively up against the academy players of professional teams all around the world given how we're continually bringing young talent in.

Talk about keeping you on your toes. When young players say things like "You're going backwards if you're not improving all the time" you start to appreciate how right they are. A lot of pressure for 15-17 year olds!

I must admit that the Comolli bashing winds me up aswell. Everyone goes on about how great Wenger is at signing players blah blah blah, but in Adebayors first season for arsenal he scored 11 goals in 47 appearances....pretty god damn average to me.

KPB is 21 years old, has played about 9 games for us and people are slating him (Surely he deserves more time). Let me remind you that a certain Ronaldo was seriously cr*p when he first joined Utd/As was Tevez when he joined West Ham. Kaboul was chucked in at the deep end and unfortunately he suffered a bit but I think that if we got rid we would eventually regret it.

Fair enough these signings havent worked that great last season but Comolli has also brought in some very very good talent: Berbs/Bale/Hutton/Woodgate/Gunter/Gilberto/Gomes/Dos Santos/Modric. Add that to the youngsters that he has signed: Bostock/Parrett/Mpoku/Rose/Ranieri/Jansson/Olsen...

I for one am happy that we have Comolli at the club, and it does make me laugh when people slate Comolli for a bad signing and then say he has nothing to do with it when its a good signing. For example many people blamed Comolli for Gilberto making the mistake against PSV but then praise Ramos for bringing in Hutton & Woodgate......that makes no sense to me. If you blame Comolli for Gilberto then he deserves high praise for Hutton & Woody!

If Comolli & Ramos work together like they have done so far in bringing mega talented players to Tottenham then I think its about time we got off his back & started supporting the bloke. After all we are all THFC!

Rant Over

Agree with you 100%, but some people always have to blame someone.

Comolli does not go off on his own and make the signings in a vacuum, unbeknownst to Levy, Jol/Ramos, etc. The concept of a "Comolli-signing" is a pure chimera. I think that is a pretty well established fact.
yes but as we all know a bad signing mean you are a comolli signing.a good signing means jol or ramos must have gone over comolli head....

He's 16 and 6ft 2? Blimey, he'll be nearly 7ft by the time he's 20!!

I still think we need another GK as Robbo is likely to leave for Aston Villa.

he doesn't look much like Bently and he's half a head taller.

thats about as much constructive comment you'll get out me today. i'm in "one of them moods"

Enough for someone seeing him from twenty or thirty yards or further away to confuse them, and I'll bet you there aren't that many who could tell you how tall Bentley is without looking it up.

Quite a few SC members seem to think Zokora's about 5' 6" and refuse to believe the figure from the club site (and every other stat site).

We are delighted to announce that agreement has been reached with Perugia for the signing of Italian youth international Mirko Ranieri.

The 16-year-old goalkeeper has represented Italy at Under-16 level and will now join up with our Academy group of players, coached by Alex Inglethorpe.

"Mirko is 6ft 2" and an excellent shot stopper," said Sporting Director Damien Comolli. "His distribution and decision making is improving all the time.

"He is a highly-intelligent individual and another very good young goalkeeper we have attracted to the Club."

He will shortly be issued with his first shipment of pies and, once he turns 17 and becomes a full professional, we can set about making him poo, as we traditionally do with good keepers.

"I cannot wait to get my hands on him" Said Inglethorpe, "we'll get his gloves coated with Teflon in August, then we can really set about destroying his career".

Sorry, couldn't resist, i respect Mr Inglethorpe really, as i respected Mr Segers, Mr Keller and Mr Sullivan...

as far as i was aware, it was common knowledge that there was no love lost at all between Martin and DC and, when you're a manager being given players that just do not fit your system, and having your star players sold from under your nose, i don't care what the board said about Martin having to agree to these signings, DC did him no favors at all.

Aside from any love i have for the big dutch dude, even as a neutral, you cannot tell me that DC had nothing to do with his demise in the long run.

Star Players? Carrick? He wanted to go though.
Im sure Levy would have listened if Jol had said he didnt want to sign a player i.e. Bent for 16million.
There was a team of 4 an still is with the manager having the final say on who he wants.
