While watching MLS sounders at redbull (ha ha!) On ESPN at the weekend I saw that the ref had a little can of spray paint which He used when He marched the players back at a free kick. He sprayed a line at the players feet.... not a bad idea although I'm sure fifa frown upon it.

Yeah this has been around for a while in South America, the paint goes after a minute or so, I think Fifa are seriously looking into it but I can't say that it's a major problem really.

yep. seen plenty of mexican matches where this is done but not any of my beloved MLS matches... yet anyway... i'll watch seattle v houston tonight and see if they use it...

Would be comical to see a ref mace Rooney/Terry/Gerrard etc.

By mace by initially mean pepper spray thing...but a medieval weapon would be just as fun.

Personally i think it is a major problem when it comes to free kicks close to goal. I have seen it time and time again where a free kick is closed down because an opposing player isn't ten yards.

After all the rule is there for a reason and imo is broken constantly to the point its all most excepted.

yet to see it used but haven't seen many MLS matches so far this season... :roll:
