Nice BBC article about Modric here ahead of Football Focus interview tomorrow.

"I have great memories of Tottenham," he says. "I spent four great years there with a lot of emotions, with a lot of love from the club and the fans. I enjoyed every moment with Tottenham. But in one moment you feel you need to take a step forward, to go to a higher level.
"I think it was the right time for me to go, but I will always be thankful to Tottenham for everything they did for me. I became a better player there and they pushed me to this level where I am at the moment. I will always be a fan, I follow them a lot when I can."

Always liked that guy...

Still don't like the way he left and the disrespect he showed the club and fans when he wanted to follow the money to Chelsea.

But that's in the past and we move on and all said he was a fantastic little player for us.

He should be happy he didnt go real madrid or he wouldn't be as good as he is now imo. Him being arguably real madrid's best player this season has got him more credit. Says it all when he is going off to standing ovations in a team that includes Bale and Ronaldo!

One of the best players I've ever seen and one of the best to ever play for Tottenham. Bale won games but Modric controlled them start to finish.

He's also an object lesson in not rushing to judgement on Lamela.

Looked sad and lost for most of his first season in Madrid. Now look at him.

Another example of why we should be patient with the current bunch we have. Remember when no one knew what Modric's best position was? When it seemed Wenger was wright about him not being strong enough for the Prem? Wasn't good enough because he couldn't score?

Now look at him, cemented his place as a legend and is setting the World alight at Real Madrid.

I would've happily paid the entrance fee just so I could watch him. Unforgettable player.

He was the heartbeat of our team and we have never replaced him, he used to remind me so much of Ossie.

Christ some of our fans are absolute wankers...the guy was here for 4 years and gave his all for the club......should feel privileged to have witnessed one of the top 10 midfielders in World football playing for us for so long.

Modric was (and is) a joy to watch. Lost respect for him after his comments about wanting to join the chavs, but I feel lucky to have seen him play for us.

As with all the players that have left us (obviously discarding the ones we wanted shot of) we simply couldn't meet their ambitions or pay them enough money for them to forget about their ambitions.
