Could someone tell me why we need or would want another left footed right inside forward when we already have a potentially world class 30 mil one that can hardly get a game at the moment.

I'd love to see his reaction when he sees this if he comes to us and sees this in the crowd at WHL

That's the thing, we really don't need him. Townsend, Lamela and Lennon are plenty good enough. Seriously, I wish we would just give Lamela the time to acclimatize as he would get people to realize why we paid 30m for him. In my honest opinion, the way we have handled Lamela is a disgrace and could be a serious detractor when we look to attract young talents who will need time to settle in the future.

Exactly, after Modric and Bale we must have been an incredibly attractive prospect for young superstars up until now. But, as you say, the way we have handled poor Erik had been appalling. It might be different if he was an unknown, but Lamela was a very high profile wonderkid even before we spent 30 mil on him, not playing him makes us look really quite silly. I really hope things change rapidly.

It really could be more damaging then wasting a good talent.

Also, the way we could potentially setup our 4-4-2/4-3-3/4-Whatever-Whatever could be reminiscent to how Man City go at it. With two playmakers out wide, working channels, developing attacks together similar to how City does with Nasri/Silva. Seriously, Eriksen and Lamela could offer that. Sure, having more pace out wide can be a great advantage and I'm sure we will see Townsend on the left at times to provide more pace than Eriksen for certain opponents or Lennon preferred to Lamela. But by God, Lamela needs to be the future of this club just as much as Eriksen appears to be. Those two could form a fantastic duo that could really take our attack to a whole new level.

Great player imo, I cannot see us going for him though...unless we sell a few.

Fuck him. He's anti Israel. We are a Jewish club. He can go fuck himself.

I'm sorry... I'm muslim and I have supported this great club for more than 30 years. If Salah made those comments then he is an ignorant prick... Your comments though could be perceived in the same manner

S'up Snarf and Ghost - I wouldn't describe our treatment of Lamela a disgrace although it is hard to know what;s going on behind closed doors.

I, more than most, want to see Lamela get a run in the team, and as both of you have said, the mian reason for this is that I see him and Eriksen as being the future so why not get them playing together. However, Lamela has clearly shown signs of being a slow developer and it's a careful balancing act between giving him minutes on the pitch but doing whats best for the club.

I know his second season at Roma was far better than his first, do either of you guys know how many starts he got for Roma in his first year? Maybe they eased him in like we're doing. He's naturally going to be a bit mor eon edge as its a WC year but as I say, the club and making sure we win as many games as possible has to be the most important thing atm
