He wants a release clause if a CL team comes in for him. I doubt we’ll accept that.

Similar to Eze, in the sense he can play as a attacking 8 or on the wing. I would be interested to see where Ange would prefer him. On the wing he is more inclined to cut inside, That is not necessarily a perfect fit for the system we play.

He is an absolute baller though.

Interesting, I saw Brighton were at the point of signing him until they couldn't agree personal terms, due to him wanting a release clause.

Decent amount of goals last year too. Anyone who has seen him play much, does he usually play on left or right wing?

He really stood out to me in last year's champions league and the world cup. If I recall, I think he's left footed and tended to cut in? But I seem to remember him doing a lot of work centrally as well.

He's like Eze, can play wing but ultimately wants to play at number 10. Similar ti maddison and lo celso so pointless signing

He's very talented, but I share the sentiment about not wanting to get him if he wants an escape clause in the contract.

Yes please, - the CL clause. Don't want players who are looking to dip after not getting CL in their first season.

Much more reasonable to ask that from Brighton than us. We’re on a down swing, but we’ve been in the CL at least half of the time in the last decade right? I assume we pay better wages than them also.

Well this is a surprising turn of events if interest is legitimate but I was firmly under the impression that it was all but done with Brighton?

Would be a great signing and gives genuine competition/rotation on the right flank which we need more than the left hand side with Eze.

Think we will go for Eze/Johnson since they are HG, especially if we sign Orban too. Kudus is great though, Brighton know how to spot a player.

100% this

Only time we have ever included a buy out was with Toby wasn't it and that's because we had no option as he wouldn't sign new deal. No way levy agrees to this for a new signing

You would imagine if we will offer higher wages so that he removes that clause

Yeah I don't think him asking that from Brighton automatically means he'd be asking the same from us. Truth is in the PL unless you're going to City there is no guarantee you will be in the CL the next season. Just with certain clubs (top 7) there is a perceived much higher chance of it.

I would just be worried about the impact of the ANC as we would lose Bissouma, Sarr (Orban if we were to sign him) and this guy which could potentially be a chunk of the first team.
