Just curious, if anyone know how these things work. Is it just free advertising for us, UA and HP when Bale is plastered all over Times Square and video game boxes? Surely that's too good to be true, don't we have to pay something for all that advertising? If not, then it's certainly true that his value is even more than his already huge value as a footballer.
Companies pay big money to be associated with successful performers in any field as it adds legitimacy and star quality. EA wants people to think FIFA is as close to real football as possible - and what better way than to get real footballers in it and to use them to promote it?
EA and NBC will have had to pay Bale and Spurs. Hence Bale's fame and success broadens Spurs' in turn. Not HP I would suspect, they'd treat it as free advertising and one of the many factors they'd have considered when sponsoring us
This is the reason real stadiums are only being introduced into FIFA season by season. EA will have had to pay Spurs to put White Hart Lane into FIFA
