To save you guys the trouble of having to write it out, let's just sum up what the next 10 pages of this thread are going to be like

Dembele is crap
No he isn't
Dembele complete 96% of his dribbles and 200% of his headers
A discussion of dribbling statistics
Rabble rabble rabble
Hey guys, can we please get this thread back on topic
A bit more bollocks about Dembele's stats, some funny jokes about Dembele's stats
Thread gets back on topic

So, with that in mind, what does everyone make of Schneiderlin training today, back on track at the saints or delaying the inevitable?

I find it very hard to read the way people so openly critisise our players and force a ridiculous label upon each one of them..... I mean whoever said the dembele is "sh**" clearly has zero knowledge of football and is simply wanting to scapegoat.

Every club needs at least one scapegoat. It's mandatory, like the home-grown player and the 25-man squad.

Dembele is probably the most frustrating player I've ever watched. So much ability and a physical beast. His left foot is a rocket and when he controls it can be a lethal missile. However, when he's off for he often finds row Z. As well as the fact that he dribbles it around 5 players, gets sight on goal and passes it. His decision making is very poor and very slow. As well as his inconsistency, his injury problems are pretty serious. He can be amazing, everything to him is natural but by being inconsistent and injury prone I'm not sure we can take the risk. I'd be sad to sell him, but I'd be willing to let him go if it meant we can get Morgan

I do see where your coming from and to a great extent agree, but I truly think its something that can be coached and within a collective group all training together it can be fixed. With avb most players were alienated and had very specific ridiculous instructions from avb and there was zero expression in there play and there was zero movement.

Sandro and dembele are different types of players with different qualities but I would keep dembele over sandro ANY day of the week, ye offers sooo much more and a much more rounded player. Dembeke can do all and more of what sandron can do yet because sandro is a big charactercand gets everyone laughing and joking people bum him to the hills!!

MS will eventually play for Southampton if he's not with us come Sept 1. He will claim his head was turned etc etc but he is now totally committed to the Saints. His alternative is to rot in the reserves and lose fitness, form, reputation and value (in terms of wages and fee). He won't do that, he'll continue to try to get better and noticed so he eventually gets his move in Jan or later. Real Madrid just offered too much money for us not sell Bale, this won't happen here, Southampton don't have to sell if they don't want to and it really looks like they don't want to.

All depends on what we offer. If we don't get close to what they want he will be staying at Southampton, simple as that.

I know they're saying the won't sell regardless, but they will if we get close enough to what they want. Nobody really wants to keep an unhappy player and they also want to paint him as the bad guy should he end up being sold.

True. I just feel they have filled their coffers with enough dough to be able to walk away from this sale unless we offer something we'll above what they consider to be market price. They are in the position of power here regardless of the players current mood which as I say will quickly change come 1 sept.

I think they're asset stripping and gearing up to be sold. Its much more cost effective for the owner to sell the players individually like this than bundling them all into an overall price/sale for the Club.

They shit themselves at the reaction to Chambers being sold and have realised they need to be competent in order to sell the Club so have altered their stance somewhat.

That's my take anyway.

I rate Dembele, sadly another one who has been unlucky with ongoing injuries, but on his day, he is great to watch!
If I have a criticism of him it's that he holds on to the ball too long at times, and tries to go past the player instead of looking for a pass.
Hope he stays fit and we get the best out him this season, could end up being a key player if we don't get Schneiderlin this window.

Somebodies got to go to make space for MS, I'm not sure who but I have not heard any new links for Sandro/Paulino/Dembele.

There is a possibility that the deal could be cancelled our end due to nobody moving on.

Dembele can be such a majestic footballer. He's got so much talent.

Let him get his surgery and see what the Poch magic wand can do with him.

I said same few weeks back. Considering the abundance of CMs we have would be perfect opportunity for Dembele to get fixed and return to his best come November. Would be like a new signing.
