I'm not convinced I want MS tbh.

Up front - I've seen little of him.

But Capoue has looked excellent so far. And that's not surprising, because he looked great at the start of last season too before he got injured (does anyone else remember that?)

And last night Sandro looked like being back to the beast we know he can be.

If they both stay fit, I want those two competing for the spot.

Sure - if they both get injured then we're a bit screwed at DM. But Poch isn't stupid - in that circumstance he'd be more likely to play someone like Dier in that position than the ridiculousness that we had last season from Timmeh with Chadli being played in that role (FFS).

And just how many top-choice players can you keep happy for one position? IIUC Capoue hasn't been injury prone generally, and we can expect him to play regularly now he's fit again. You just can't have three 1st choice players for each position - one of them inevitably ends up rotting.

I'd really like to know the opinions of the medics on Sandro. If he's likely to break down again then fair enough. But if he's past it, strong, and unlikely to be out for long periods again (barring Ryan Shawcross/Charlie Adam) then we could spend the cash better elsewhere IMO.
We're not trying to buy him to compete with Capoue and Sandro. He'll play Bentaleb's position alongside Capoue

I think people are looking into this a bit too deeply.

He hasn't signed a new contract, various ITK has said that he's NOT happy, regardless of what Koeman has said. The majority of ITK's have said that if it'll happen, it'll be very, very late.

If you think about it, it's a very odd picture to put up. Why not a picture of Saints celebrating a goal? To me, it seems like he's saying that he is being forced to 'march on' - it hardly shows that he's proud to play for a great club that he respects, trusts & knows will succeed going forward does it? There's plenty of time before the deadline & we shouldn't lose patience because we haven't had a new player fix in a whole 2 days.. I'm certainly in this one till the bitter end!

Keep calm, carry on.. expect nothing, hope for everything!
 Pot calling kettle black springs to mind.

Erm.. not really.. Dealing in facts, rather than assumptions & hysteria.

Let's at least find out what JJ & The Goat have to say before the wrist cutting begins..

Okay - cheers. All the podcasts etc I listen to had him as DM. Is he more deep lying distribution then, the *other* half of the pivot?

I can see more sense in that if so. Benteleb's done very well, but outside of him it's only really Dembele. And although he's totally reliable, I've never been convinced he can do more than 'do a job' for us IYSWIM.

I swear to you lot I'm not bullshitting:

There are three people here in this cafe in London. One of them just said "She's not even out of Southampton yet"

The other replied: "How long does it take to get to London"

"Around two hours but she's waiting on Morgan."

Again, probably bullshit and a coincidence, but I swear I'm not making it up.

This is SO not happening.

I think for 2 reasons:

1. Southampton will be asking an extortionate fee - upwards of £25m IMO
2. We still haven't got rid of our surplus of CM's. We currently have 5 for 2 positions! If Sandro or Paulinho had been sold, or gone on loan, then I would have more hope.

It's a shame, but hopefully we go back for him in Jan or next summer.

If all this information is accurate about who Southampton are after I believe they will only deal with us if Townsend is going the other way, that way if it falls through the Club can say to MS " We were willing to let you leave but Spurs weren't willing to sell Townsend"

What we have to remember is that MS has been at Southampton for 6 years and has/had a great rapport with the fans. The picture could be just a love for the Fans simply as that. Does in no way mean he is staying just because he he has Southampton fans on his twitter when 5 tweets back it still has THAT tweet. Come on guys no need for the melt down

We just signed a 24 year old French defensive midfielder. MS is a 24 year old French defensive midfielder.

We haven't signed Morgan.

If one of our midfielders are sold/loaned Monday morning then something will probably be done in the typical domino effect on deadline day.

Well, now we have this French fella from Montpellier , I guess the whole cover photo change was because we told him we aren't signing him and now he has to stay at saints?

Nope, we gonna swap him with MS in a part-exchange.

Maybe this is what JJ was alluding to about things becoming clearer, we signed this other fella so that means MS is off. Underwhelming if so.
