Who are the candidates for most improved player this season compared to previous ones ? For me there are 3 candidates- Dawson, Ekotto and Lennon.
I would give it to BAE because the other 2 both showed good form in previous years. They both lost form in the past couple of seasons. While BAE was so poor before his injuries that it looked like he would never make it

BAE.
Hes almost too cool and calm when playing, he at times yesterday had Gab's Young and Milner to mark and he did it all with aplomb. Plus held the worlds best footballer last week.
Measure that against a couple of years ago when Ljundberg absolutely ripped him appart, after that i thought that BAE would never make the grade, im so glad to say im wrong, he is fastly becoming one of the top left backs in the league.

I always thought BAE was decent, but this year he is been top notch. Definitely most improved, but he didnt have much to surpass as he hardly ever played before!

Lennon is my player of the season

Dawson for me. He's been amazing this season, after a dodgy last season.

Haven't really praised BAE too much this season as I have felt he was our weak link... but yesterday I thought he was great, can only remember once when he was caught out of position and I think Woody saved him, other than that he was a rock... he has developed a good understanding of when to hoof the ball away and when to go shoulder to shoulder and ease a player out...

TBH BAE has never been bad to say hes improved

BAE was quite frankly atrocious near the start of his time here.

Horrible defender, positionally awful, gave wingers acre's of space, never stopped the cross and had a really bad attitude.

He has improved immensely since. In fact I used to downright hate BAE because I felt he personified everything wrong with the club. He just did not care. Its testament to his recent improvement in form that he is actually winning me over and I feel he is playing very well now.

BAE probably edges it. Defensively he has become one of the best LBs in the premiership but just watch his distribution - it is often very, very poor.

Lennon is probably my player of the season so want to spread the love.

Dawson has been magnificent, better even than his good old days.

Well since Harry's come in Ekotto and Lennon have been excellent, there like different players and I can see now why Ekotto was so highly rated.

Gomes seems to be showing good form now aswell, he seems alot more confident now claiming crosses, a step in the right direction.

Dawson has been immense when asked upon also.

Cant agree with BAE to be honest. Just for the smple fact that this is his first full season which is injury free. So i wouldn't class him as our most improved player this season. He's just settled really well into the pace of the Premier League now that he's had a run of games. That was his biggest problem when he arrived. He was so casual on the ball and caused himself problems. But he's adapted to the pace of the English game now.

Mine is Lennon without a doubt. His energy levels and work rate are phenominal. His crossing has improved, although still needs improving. He's added a few goals to his game. He mixes play up better now. And i've also been really impressed with his improved shooting. So much so that i was going to start a seperate thread on it (but theres already enough Lennon threads atm.) His goal against Hull was great, and that effort from similar range yesterday was top class. The power he generates now has really come on.

Its often the case with smaller players. Even Messi has had to improve his shooting power from outside the box in the past year or so. And i think its something Modric will need to improve on. But Lennon has looked good with his shotting on the edge of the box. And that will help him score more goals.

i agree BAE and Dawson have both been very good this season. I always thought BAE (just like lee) was a good player and dawson has regained his old form that had us salivating about how good him and king could be together but lennons form has been quality and although our form certainly isnt solely down to him he has been the one great attacking force that we have over the other struggling teams so for me its lennon but i wouldnt argue too much if someone said BAE

That's what I was gonna say. Except I would have spelt phenomenal right. Lennon for me too.
