I know there is another thread about Parker at the moment, but didn't want this to get lost several pages in.

As of two days ago (26th March), Parker has made the most tackles in the Prem League this year.

This is what our midfield has been missing for years.

Keep it up Scott.

"Time to drop Parker"
"What does Parker do"

etc etc amen.

Best signing we have made in years and if Levy hadn't have dropped a massive bollock doing his usual then I don't think we would have been dicked in our first two league games either.

"The problem with Scott Parker is he has no end product" that's my favourite line.

He's looked a bit tired of late, but he's been a top, top, triffic signing.

Spurs have been lacking decent central midfielders of this ilk for a long time.

I used to think when the team was:

Goal keeper

Carr Campbell Defender 2 Full back 2

Anderton midfielder 1 midfielder 2 Ginola

Ferdinand Striker 2

I always felt, we could replace any of the nondescript positions above and the team would not improve - but for the central midfielders. We were so weak in that area (I'm talking 1998-2000 here).

A Parker like player would have been the most important addition to THAT team above.

Parker is doing a good job for us. It is a shame he is 31(?) and not, say 27.

i like parker, i think he adds needed stee(a)l to the team. think he's a brilliant player makes tackles and seldom gives away silly fouls in dangerous areas.

just wish he could offer more going forward.

He is a brilliant player, he does the job required. I think if we are to criticise him about his end product etc what about Modric? His goal return is pretty dreadful.

Not having a go at either player, I think both are fantastic and vital if we are to get back to winning league games, Parker tidying up whilst Modric links up the play.

Crap signing. "There's a reason he doesn't play for one of the CL clubs" :)

I don't think they link up well together at all, both like to roam around whilst both aren't the biggest nor most athletic. A bit powder puff in a two man midfield which is why a lot of They both look better in a three with Livermore/Sandro with them. Parker also doesn't transition our play well from defence to attack, therefore modric has to do this as well as knit the general play. It also doesn't help that a lot of the time parker bombs forward with little effect in a 4-4-2.
